Satoshi started Bitcointalk?

That's Bitcoin 0.2, not 2.0. Satoshi also registered bitcoin.org.

That wasn't first thread in this forum. It was https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0. Welcoming us to this new forum and it was also posted by Satoshi. :)

Yes satoshi was the founder of bitcoin as we know it, this includes the forums. It is quite incredible to look back on some of these things in my opinion.

So, the first registering authority of bitcoin.org must have Satoshi's credit card details !!! Is that very difficult for Govt. agencies to find that out ?

Good job, you've successfully found a way to id satoshi that nobody else has thought of in all these years.

He registered it using https://www.anonymousspeech.com/ which allowed for anonymous registering.

I hate to be the conspiracy theorist but surely there is more to satoshi than being a simple person, I'm sure he would have made one fault someowhere along the line if he where.

I am not very sure how anonymousspeech operates. For some reason, their site is not opening at my end !!! But, they must have received the payment from Satoshi. So, what if the Govt query them about the source of the payment ? Because, at that time, there was no bitcoin to make anonymous payment.

You can overcome by using prepaid anonymous debit cards or similar anonymous services. If you think buying/paying with prepaid debit card is still easy to track, you can buy another prepaid debit card with the current one, buy another with it and so on. But yes, loop hole can be there but it is very hard to go through it.

Where I live you can buy one of these without giving a name and the shop has no cameras = Full privacy I guess.

Were you talking about Virtual Credit/Debit Cards?
I think their use is still traceable if someone uses it from their own IP address, except if they go for some VPN service to order it.

We can buy prepaid debit cards inside a shop with no traces. So if he did something like this and paid cash I don't know how you could trace him.

Both physical and virtual anonymous prepaid debit cards.


I am pretty sure that Satoshi hasn't accessed via his IP and most of the VPNs only store IP addresses for 24hrs, so his IP would be wiped a few years ago.

Not at all. This forum was created by Satoshi and then past down through a few admins and now theymos is the Head Admin here.

When the first directly known post was made by Satoshi, Theymos was not around. :)

If u work diligently on making this forum a better place, probably some day Theymos will pass the baton to u too ;)

Satoshi is a legend at this point. Being anonymous is a part of his fable. Nothing it as it seems and his sudden disappearance is just another myth surrounding creation of bitcoin. I am just curious how in this day and age nobody was able to track him down.
