Title: HD 5970 replacement fans Post by: marcus_of_augustus on May 25, 2011, 12:15:29 PM Anybody know of a good source for replacement fans for 5970's? Got some that are starting to get noisy, seems like they may have a shorted pole or something .... feel quite 'coggy' when turning by hand and sometimes make a clattering on start-up. Excellent replacement fan kit, has 3 pretty big fans on the side though I'm not sure if they make one for the 5970 GPU.

"alternative coolers" less noisier, sure, but they usually not exhaust hot ait, but messing with it inside PC case, so resulted noise not lower[meaning in result you NEED add extra fans to PC case to back this up]amounts, but shifts in frequency below[GPU turbines use high-RPM's, while 120mm/140mm/250mm PC case fans signinficantly lover RPM rate]. so to summarise: ext-exhaust reference cooler ftw, for long-term full-stress usage. The Arctive Cooling ones are out of stock everywhere and of course it's impossible to buy the reference cooler. No one else seems to make an aftermarket cooler for them, either. I still have the reference air coolers, they do not have many miles on them because they were only used for gaming. I am travelling for work, but when I get home this weekend I will post them for sale in the classifieds. I had no clue there was a market for them.
