Title: Charlie Shrem on Mark Karpeles and Mt.Gox

Basically what he's suggesting is that Mt.Gox lost those Bitcoins in their first hack and just continued operation like nothing happened which in my opinion could have been the reason for implementing the "Willy" bot when eventually it blew up in his face.

Are there any records / articles suggesting that Gox never actually recover from their first hack ?

Could be that someone hacked the platform and created infinite fiat on different accounts and was withdrawing bitcoins and buying up the price over the year.

That is no longer the issue, the bot managed to sell bitcoins when no one had access to trading..
