Title: Most Energy Efficient Browser Post by: gareth69 on May 25, 2011, 05:07:25 PM I was getting a big drop from over 200Mh to less than 100Mh on my "work" PC. In the end I tracked it down to OPera browser. Nice browser but this rig is CPU limited and it was really causing the miner to chugg. I notice both Firefox (not as much as it used to) and opera can run away with the CPU in Windows.

So if you're using mining on your main PC with Windows you may want to try this to see if it helps increase your MH. I got 2 6870s running in crossfire, I set this up first. I now use the intel 3000/2000 graphics and both the gpus run independently. There is a bios setting. I noticed I have a hdmi cable attached to one of the AMD cards. To make a long story short, my hashes remain at 278 mH/s regardless of browser and I can use the computer and it runs great.
Title: Re: Most Energy Efficient Browser Post by: PcChip on May 25, 2011, 07:12:34 PM Try setting the mining priority to Above Normal or High in the task manager, then your MH/s shouldn't drop because the mining client's CPU code should have priority to keep the GPU fed with data to hash.
It will slow down your browsing experience, but you won't give two shits because your miner will be well fed :D |
