Preliminary work will soon begin on the second edition of the book called Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" A Beginner's Reference.  Unfortunately, some coins featured in the current book won't automatically be in the next one.  Please find these and others in the above poll which will be open indefinitely until a future close date is determined.  If your favourite crypto is not listed, please say.

I'd like to see Urocoin added to the list, it's the only altcoin on blockcypher.com aside from Litecoin.

I voted for Paycoin because it belongs there as a cautionary tale. There were a lot of red flags which many Paycoiners chose to ignore, so it makes for the perfect "professional bad example." If you add it as that, and put in a brief list of red flags that tell your readers what to avoid, you'd be adding a different kind of value to your book.

As guldencoin is not in the list, i have voted for Unobtanium.
Don't know why exactly, but i have always been fan of these coins.

I'd like to see Zeitcoin in the list so that I could vote for it. It is the hidden gem of the altcoins.

Zeitcoin is well-established and certainly has one of the most active, interesting and well-informed communities. It is also one of the few coins that have substantially increased in value over the last six months.

Also, NEM isn't really NEMstake.  NEM is just NEM and NEMstake was a pre-launch token on the NXT AE, but those tokens have been turned in in preparation for launch. 

The NEM platform will have a coin and that tokens name is XEM.

this is kind of like how Ethereum uses ether.

Would be great to continue the ongoing chapters of ColossusCoin from the first book and can make for a great read.

I hope Piggycoin can make it in. It doesn't have a huge marketcap but makes for a good interesting read as a coin with its own niche in the bitcoin ecosystem, one that supports all other coins in a sense by helping educate and introduce kids to cryptocurrency.

Not necessarily.  Coins will be ranked according to market cap on a particular day.  The top 30 get onto the front cover.

It has been decided that each of the 50 cryptos and assets will have 6 pages each.  As a result, more information will be included (especially about their respective block rewards through time.

I was thinking about Ripple and Ethereum today.  It is likely that a few of the 50 voted for last April have diminished in terms of community/development.  I will see how things progress as I research.  A great year ahead awaits.

The original dev was only around for a few months in 2014 and attempted to get the zeitgeist movement to support zeitcoin by attending one of their meetings and contacting their management.  Zeitgeist movement management basically rebuked him and wanted nothing to do with any virtual coin at that time.
Upon that , the original dev left not long after , Rent_a_Ray stepped up and became the dev and has been ever since.
Like most original devs that left, his real id was unknown to the community.

So basically there never have been any real connections between the Zeitgeist movement and the Real ZEIT movement, which is basically the current ZEIT Kights & community. The ZEIT Knights have no interest in partnering with the management of the zeitgeist movement.
Each year for 1 month New ZEIT Knights can join , next post in ZEIT forum contains that info.
