This is the biggest load of crap, it looks so boring and 90's actually and its like any other 1.0 altcoin wallet, it doesnt offer anything new and it isnt user friendly at all just like all the others posted by OP except getgems which is just miles ahead.

Honest review:

NXT wallet could not be found in the PLAY store.  Now if I can't find it then yo momma sure ain't gonna find it either.

Gemz is nice and something different.  Opal too.  Now we have communication inside the wallets.  Cool.  But if I have to be 'registered' by phone number, email, plus PLAY already tracks my identity so then give the anon messaging hype a rest ;)  Your tracked down to your finger print geo location and voice at that point, no?

Still pleasantly surprised by quark, you can auto generate amounts in any currency.  Not cutting edge like OPAL or GEMZ but easy and basic.  Sucky name tough to brand the QUARK.

again pls post any others I am missing.

No, https://wallet.mynxt.info/ is the online wallet.

The creator of the android wallet takes you're point and it will be made easier to find as part of a series of changes, due for the end of the month.

Guldencoin

FTC has a stand alone wallet and the coinomi wallet too.

The updated Gems wallet is awesome, there are more features on the Android wallet then the ISO one but both are very good.

The wallet has features that non-crypto users can use:

private messaging where you can set a timer so messages are erased from the devices
group chat
send pics, files, gifs, audio

NXT also has another wallet solution where you can use the online NXT client from: www.jnxt.org/nxt  --- login with your NXT account (not using your pass)

Then do what you need to do with your account, like sending coins to someone.

Then sign and broadcast your NXT transaction using the mobile wallet by scanning the QR code on the monitor. Using "NXTVAULT"... its like a cold wallet solution for nxt. Your passphrase is never exposed to the client computer. The computer can be infected with keyloggers or trojans and it wont matter.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jay.nxtvault

I haven't seen any other altcoin setup something like this. The Bitcoin equivalent to this is using Armory Wallet on 2 computers. One Armory computer does the transaction and you copy that transaction information onto a usb drive, then you connect that to your offline Armory computer to do the signing and copy it back to the online computer to do the broadcasting so your private key is never exposed. It's a bit cumbersome, but its as safe as it gets.

Now on NXT your passphrase ONLY exists on your Android phone using NXTvault and you sign the transaction by scanning the QR code on the screen and broadcast using your phone only. Your NXT passphrase never gets exposed. Ultra safe imo...

Best ANDROID wallets

(let me know what other coins have one)

TOP RATED

Quark ... the best I've seen.  Someone spent time and money making sure it looks good too.  Good currency convertor.

Thanks, I am the developer of the Quark Wallet, but I had much help and input from some faithful Quark Enthusiasts about a year ago.  I no longer support this wallet.

The Dash Wallet is probably my best as it is updated nearly all the way to the current Bitcoin Wallet.

When I say cluttered, I mean that there is a lot of real estate taken up by things that are intended to re-direct user attention and function.  Get a few gemz for spreading the word on social media and then redeem your gemz - it's kind of what many 'paid for survey apps' function as.  Which is fine, but if the intent is to work as a social media/chat client that enables tipping then being inundated with sponsored/sponseree content is, in my opinion, clutter.

It might work as intended but a fair point for me to make is that I am somewhat biased from the perspective of a 'centralized but decentralized' client...that and I see no point for stickers to exist...; )

Edit - Intended Bitbillions rather than bitcoin billionaire and only aspects of that website.  Omitted the reference entirely.

I don't think you understand, its not just "get a few gemz for spreading the word". You see GG shares income with active users, usually the gatekeepers such as FB/ Google and others earn billions from their users, but users don't get nothing from the piece of the pie. Thats why apps like GG or Tsu believe the users should be in the centre, so in GG case there are different reward models not just one. This is a much more fair model because without its users apps like whatsapp would never make it. Besides who doesn't want free money, i can imagine teens, kids actually everyone will like this, once its complete.

Also to have a chance to compete you need to have an edge above other and offer something unique, the best one it using blockchain technology, the app as of now is already superior than any other messenger. No other messenger allows you to send money.

Gems getting alot o love.

It's the future of instant messaging, just like Bitcoin is the future of banking. It seems GetGems is successfully achieving the concept of binding simplicity, recognition and incentive with each other in an app and is awarded as the most visionary social media solution by Citi (http://www.citigroup.com/citi/news/2015/150528a.htm). Eventually the app will have its own ecosystem with the Gems used inside the app having a real world purpose and real value. It will be build around attention economy where users will be able to pay each other for their attention through various advertisement designs, get rewarded in different ways, spend it in different ways, make BTC/Gems transactions and communicate within the app. This all will be done as simple as possible for everyone to understand and one of the main reasons i follow the project. GetGems is sponsoring the 5th Tokyo Bitcoin startup pitch, Shimo Hiroshi (don't know him) will speak on behalf of GetGems Japan.

An interview from yesterday with Daniel Peled explaining GetGems.

Bitcoin is a tech in its infancy. I'm sure there were many back in the 90's who thought AOL would always dominate.

Smartphone wallets are the future.

Title: Re: Best ANDROID wallets
Post by: BitcoinNational on August 22, 2015, 08:33:39 AM
AOL lol :) ... Time-Warner types have already bought out btc

plus i'm not sure if 40-50min confirm time is gonna work well for an Android wallet.  Coins that can send confirms under 150sec yes, over that time limit ... sorry what were you saying I drifted off ... there is a fine limit on how long people will wait at the checkout.

the bitcoin wallet is going to be a web wallet (3rd party aka digital bank) for the 99.9999% that btc thinks it holds sway over ... odd thing is alts are already +1/10th of the market shares ... hubris look it up.

=====
here's thought food ... "Smartphone wallets are the future" ... yes indeed ... cheap under $50 mobiles can stake/create one hell of a cheaper more decentralized net ... and they will run android wallets.

And don't forget nearly every 'modern' human on the planet has and habitually carries a Smartphone ... think game app wallets ... PLAY ... yes indeed ;)

StakeSticks are TV sticks that allow you to stream, browse, whatever. It's basically a computer that uses your TV as a monitor and runs on Android

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mystphysx.wallet.DigiCube_Qt is the link to the actual wallet. Yes, it stakes :)

Just for the record, Coinomi isn't charging any fees, it's a 100% free wallet. I guess you are referring to the integrated exchange where fees are set and collected by ShapeShift.io.

I have xapo on my tablet, there is no fee's and after 9 months of using xapo wallet I never had any problems. Its good wallet for everyday transactions, like for me. I like to gamble and I transfer money a lot from place to place.
OP mentioned many wallets that I didn't know they exist at all, nice list and good work. Maybe I will try some new wallet.

OPAL has an android wallet, also has an iMessage style system, so you can text others (encrypted).

Who developed the OPAL wallet?

Maybe on the opening thread listing the best android wallet developers?

good idea ... since most of the wallets originate from a handful of devs

recently UNO camp found a reconnect bug in our wallet, we ask our Android dev about it ...

Reply from HE -
This is a known issue.  This wallet is based on Bitcoin Wallet and the Bitcoin Wallet developers removed the "Disconnect" feature because it never worked properly all the time.

What the wallet will do is keep track of how often it is used.  If it is not used often, then it will less often start itself and sync the blockchain.

There are no plans to fix it as there is no known solution to the issue.  For the Dash Wallet, I removed disconnect, then received many complaints.  So I added it back in.  Its possible that other developers who do these apps know what to do.  I will check with the Dogecoin developer.

Ok, that's good to know.  I use this UNO Android wallet on 2 devices. I enjoy it.

Its on Google Play, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hashengineering.unobtanium.wallet&hl=en%3Futm_source%3Dna_Med

Another option for storing Unobtanium on Android is the UberPay multicoin wallet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mygeopay.wallet&hl=en

dev is HashEngineering  (already posted his work in the OP)
had nothing but professionalism from him over the past +18months
i would suggest he is the best of the better Android devs.
