Post by: BtcVillaII on March 13, 2015, 01:51:49 AM
My main account "btcvilla" was banned from posting and sending private messages for 14 days, why was I banned, is there a way to get unbanned early?

One of the main reason being banned is through spamming on most of the threads here on the forum or making or sending spam pm to members, try emailing the moderators and begin asking them why your account as banned in the first place and ask what is the possible remedy to unban it earlier.

I am fairly confident that it was because you were wearing a paid signature and were making insubstantial posts. Looking at the last 3 pages of your post history I see that you have made pretty much nothing more then one liners and slightly longer, but still insubstantial posts.

You can try to appeal your ban to get it to expire early, however you will need to give a good reason why this should happen. I personally have not seen anyone ever post/give a good reason why their ban should expire early.

Creating a new account to ask why was your old account banned may only cause more problems for you. Looks like your last post was only 20min or so before starting this topic and it was a bump.
How many PM's did you send in 14 days and could these PM's be seen as spam by some members?

I didn't think you would receive a bitcointalk ban for spamming with a sig, maybe get kicked out of your campaign but not from the forum.

I see you are ignoring the ban by posting with this new account in all areas of the forum.

This is likely to get you permanently banned.  Govern yourself accordingly, and don't come crying to us when you screw up.

I had this account for a few months actually. and I sent like 5 in 14 days. And to the person who said I could of been spammin.

On my 1s page, I only posted 3 short post, and those don't even get counted in my sigature campaign..

@Vod

I'm not crying for help, I came here to ask if anyone has an idea of how I got ban and information on bans, if I do get permantly banned it's my fault and I would not cry about it.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Live with it. Don't ask for ways to avoid bans...14 days are not too much and at the end you can be back posting. I suggest you read & understand forum rules (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0) before you start posting again since this can avoid you the risk of violating them again.
Everyone of us have got a ban in our early days on this forum.

No, it was several times explicitly stated by mods and staff, that creating an account to discuss a ban is allowed. Just dont post outside of meta or discuss other topics within meta.

14 days is a typical first-warning-you-are-spamming-ban. It used to be less, but BadBear apparently had enough. I only skimmed through your posts, but the majority (last 3 pages) look like one liners. I read some and do not think they contributed to a discussion. If these posts are the exception they are fine, if they are the rule, they are not.

As others have said, to get unbanned early will not happen, wait 2 weeks and come back. You are allowed to log into the account and read your favorite threads etc.

Keep in mind that you are not allowed to create a new account to post anywhere besides where. That would be considered evading the ban, which would prolong your ban and increase the chance for a permaban.
