Title: What to use Bitcoin on?
Post by: spartan1022 on March 13, 2015, 04:22:32 AM
Hey everyone. I'm very new to using bitcoin so I'm still trying to figure it all out. Just out of curiosity, I was just wondering what many of you use bitcoin on? Do you use it for online services or for more physical goods and services?

I use bitcoin mostly on online goods which I can usually resell for more bitcoin : )

At this point though, I'm trying to show others the uses of bitcoin in local shops where I live. Mostly, I tell them how much a bitcoin costs and they freak. They freak even more when I told them at one point that it was worth pennies.

I've used, in a few occasions, for online gambling but mostly to buy stuff online. I know many people here say that you shouldn't spend but instead collect and keep. If you are interested in buying stuff from ebay, amazon or any other website I'd recommend you brawker.com (http://brawker.com). You will see whats it all about on their homepage. I've already bought a coat, a tablet and a few little items trought them from ebay.

yes most of my bitcoin use the online service, but because in my country is not too much (even rarer) online services that accept bitcoin, so I had to trade it in advance.

so that I often buy using bitcoin in online services, only pulse :)

I am not sure if I understand you correctly Op. But since bitcoin is digital creation it only can be used via online network. If you asking if we are buying stuff with bitcoin or paying for services for it the answer is in both cases - yes, we are. There are online shops already accepting bitcoin, you can buy almost anything and pay for your VPN service with bitcoin.

Mostly I use it for gambling and to buy certain digital products like cheaper porn accounts, ebooks, games etc. I haven't bought a physical good using BTC so far but I would like to buy a souvenir like one of those BTC Silver/Gold coins.

My personal bitcoin use at the moment is very low, I am holding like the other users (because I'm waiting the next block reward halving 25 BTC > 12.5 BTC). However I have used bitcoin as currency for buy some stuff online (video games on steam, a couple of bitcoin stickers, electronic products) I find it is more easy, fast and secure to use respect the fiat.

Currently I have been using my bitcoins for trading purposes but I find it easier to convert the bitcoins into cash via other payment processors. I wish to buy gift cards and paying bills which is more useful to me.

In my country I can order food and pay with bitcoin, so that is a great spending oppertunity. I am looking at buying some whiskey with my hard earned bitcoins(for consumption, not speculation).  Most coins I put into online business to get some roi, that is how I earn my bitcoins, put in some coins, wait a bit and hope they return multiplied :)

Bitcoin can be used for buying both digital and physical goods, recently I've used it to buy games on steam, product codes for software and a small amount of day-trading (with other alt currencies).

More are more companies are accepting bitcoin nowadays, it wont be too long until you can buy pretty much anything you want. I'm looking forward to the day I can live fiat free ;)

BTC can be used for many things nowadays. A lot of niche sites along with larger retailers and service providers like namecheap (hosting services) Tigerdirect (electronics) and even forwardthinking restuarants take it as payedment. You might be surprised!

Here's some examples for what you can buy with Bitcoin:

All are real, physical things too, by the way.  Bitcoin isn't just for digital goods and services.

There is a lot of things in the marketplace threads.  Online services, cheap software, gift cards, discounted amazon purchasing service.  That's what is so cool about bitcoin is there are a lot of people trying to accumulate it so they will sell some nice things for not a lot of bitcoin.

you can buy steam wallet codes to fund your steam wallet or buy games directly with bitcoin. also you can always find all sorts of stuff here on this forum in the marketplace section. and you can create a topic with [WTB] want to buy, in the title and ask for anything you want and pay in bitcoin.

Only the wise hold despite the various events lol.

Im still holding as well esp my moment back in 2012, and seeing where the coin can go. Im only optimistic based on millions of VC funding making the path to get there.

Or instead of using it to fund your steam account.

I rather just buy physical items to flip for profit. And using that profit to get a free "whatever" item aspect. I mean steam code is nice, but it would be better to make it "free" with using the profit money by  bitcoin to flip.

I forget the name, but there was a place where you can actually earn btc by playing cs-go and how many kills etc.

Of course, its for people who are pretty good at the game so yeah. As for what I use on bitcoin, I personally just buy giftcards.

I use mine to day trade a few coins, but nothing serious.

The rest I use for buying stuff like miners if I get a good cheap deal. Since I cant trust the overall cloud mining sites.

I suggest trying to hold bitcoin if you have the financial means.   You can use it on a surprising amount of things between sites and marketplace.  There is a lot of options.

And if you cannot buy it with BTC there is no doubt a service to buy it and take BTC for buying.   But if you can buy with fiat money and hold BTC, long term this is hopefully best.  As we are all hoping it goes up in price which means later we will be able to buy even more things with it :).

Haha exactly you can have whatever you like.

Just as long you have those bitcoins to back it up lol. Theres people who are selling a Tesla 2013 model on luxury sites like bitpremier.

The yacht is fancy, but I think a car is more useful.
