Title: If my laptop were stolen,...
Post by: Phinnaeus Gage on August 06, 2012, 04:40:47 AM
If my laptop were stolen, and I registered the S/N, can Toshiba aid in the police investigation by providing info they have on file of me to the police if the laptop were recovered, and they wanted to make sure that I am the rightful owner?

I don't see why not as long as you can also provide proof of purchase and a police report.

Police could probably request that. Other thing is if they want to.

But what if I only had the S/N number? If I registered the laptop via Toshiba, would they have a record of sorts of me?

Why would bitcointalk.org be able to answer this better than Toshiba themselves?

Maybe because it's a trick question, with the author seeking an answer before providing why the question was asked in the first place.

Was it a trick question, I mean. The OP. I need to know and I don't have the investigative patience you have. In fact I can't even watch movies, just the trailers. I have no patience.
