Title: Looking for a VPN service
Post by: fabrizziop on August 07, 2012, 09:11:14 PM
Hi. I'm looking for a cheap, bitcoin-payable VPN service. I'll use it to browse the internet/do things safely on public WiFi hotspots, and I can't create my own VPN server because the upload speeds for ADSL in Venezuela are very bad (less than 256 kbit/s).

So, anyone that knows/owns a service like the one I'm looking for, please post here. Thanks in advance

TOR PROJECT
Tor isn't a VPN service.

Yeah man, I know to search on the wiki, I was just asking for recommendations from all of you.

I can provide you VPN if you want to donate me what you feel it's worth for your use.

Send me a PM if you are interested :)

Mullvad has been amazing for me - http://mullvad.net/en/bitcoin.php

However,  can anyone tell me if PPTP is used when you download their client?

This news scares me:

You can connect to the mullvad servers using openVPN or PPTP. PPTP might be useful to use the VPN on your android phone. Their 'custom' client uses openVPN afaik, but you can also use a plain openVPN client.

+1 for Mullvad. I connect with OpenVPN through the network manager applet in Ubuntu. Easy like Sunday morning.

Check out CrownCloud. It's cheap and reliable.

i use bolehvpn, although they are non-bitcoin accepting.  satisfied customer.  i plan to switch to a bitcoin accepting VPN service when my current subscription runs out.

i am no expert but i believe the best way is You->VPN->TOR.
