Title: I can't delete my own topics!
Post by: Somekindabitcoin on March 17, 2015, 08:56:43 AM
I can't delete my own topics!

Here's what this is for then:

Ask me questions and I will try to answer them the best of my ability.

You could even ask me how I managed to make a thread with no name!

moderator note: removed blank topic

Where did you create threads? You can't delete threads in certain boards.

You could even ask me how I managed to make a thread with no name!

AFAIK spaces.

That's opening yourself for abuse!

What bitcoin addresses do you have the private keys for and what are those private keys?

(don't) Answer the question, please. ;-)

Are you sure that you can't delete threads only in certain boards?
You can delete threads only if nobody has seen them.

I maybe wrong, then. IIRC I was able to delete threads but couldn't in some boards. It maybe was because of the views like you said. Thank you for pointing me to the right reason. :)

No. That's not a correct. There are certain boards in which deletion of posts is not allowed, like Auction section, digital goods and a few others. However you can delete your posts in majority of the sections.
This has really nothing to do with if anyone has seen the post or not.

You are wrong, the OP was referring about topics not the posts. Maybe he has tried to delete a topic created by him and he failed, I think you cannot delete a topic where someone has replied to it.

This is exactly what i'm talking about. Of course you could delete posts! I just can't delete the topic.

Okay. Got it. Sorry it was threads and not a post.

But I just tried deleting my self created thread, it showed- "An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot delete your own topics in this board.
"

Even if you are talking about the thread maybe deleting a thread is only limited to certain boards(cause the error message says "you cannot delete your own topics in this board ").  Maybe I am wrong but then it should have said something like - "Someone has already replied to your thread. You cannot delete it now".

The Thread(Topic ) in Auction section can't be deleted but can be in Digital goods.
If you want to delete posts ,you can make a Self-Moderated Topic.

You could even ask me how I managed to make a thread with no name!

That really caught my attention to open the thread in first place.
Alt+255 ???

I believe the code was 250D. There are lots of invisible ASCII, but this one takes the cake for me.

I should have quoted a post, instead of just stating that topics cannot be deleted if somebody has seen them.

Here goes
Q: How do I delete/lock my own thread(s) when I no longer need them?
A: On the top right of your post is a delete button. You can delete threads if nobody has seen them. Otherwise, just click "Lock topic" link at the bottom left.
