Title: Simple question... Power cords.
Post by: TTravis on March 17, 2015, 02:04:07 PM
I just bought 3 antminer s3's and a 1300 watt evga supernova power supply as several different items on ebay.  These items are starting to arrive but the power cords I bought turned out to be not correct.

I would appreciate if someone would reply with a link to an amazon.com or ebay item what would be the correct vga power cable I need.  Thanks in advance.....   Tom

Power cords for which?  The power supply?  Isn't it standard AC computer power cord:

If you're referring to needing more video power connectors for the 1300 watt EVGA PSU, than these are a little pricey, but contain the whole set:

Part number is: 100-CR-1300-B9

It is the EVGA power cords going between the power supply to the antminer.  I believe it is the 6 pin to 8 pin.  I bought some of the "mini" version.  Can these be bought individually for less money?

Perhaps something like this:

Close, but I don't want it to be a splitter because they will be carrying 200w of power each.

I think I am looking for a 6Pin to 8Pin PCI Express cable about 8 inches long.  I need 6 of them.

Startech?

I've used these on Antminers S1s in the past.  They're over 8 inches long and work really well.

Have you tried contacting EVGA?  It sounds like you just need the PCI-e cords that come with it.

This is close, but I think it is wrong sex on 6 pin end.  Looking at the S1, I can see how this would work, but the S3 needs 6 pin male connector that goes in the top.

This should do it:

It'll connect to both sides of the Antminer s3 and has the 8 pin into the eVGA power supply:

Will one be sufficient to power both sides (blades) of the s3, or do I need to order 2 for each S3 for a total of 6?

I appreciate your help and am anxious to get into bitcoin mining with these.

One of these double cables per S3, so total of 3.
