Sorry for the late late late reply. The Meetup went really well but the venue sucked as the owners watched a news item on Bitcoin. However we have a new venue

Maybe set future ones for mid afternoon weekends Thursday mid week many people working. If this is going to happen on a regular basis then I am sure to come to one providing it is done on a Sat afternoon sometime :)

OOooh a midlands meet-up, I might be tempted, but previuse poster is right, Thursday nights is not good for me.

The last meeting (23/07/15) was very productive in the sense that everyone got on and ideas were bouncing around the room like a tennis ball on steroids.

The ones that seemed like a goer were.

1. A bitcoin workshop to be had at Birmingham University around the subject of security etc on 18th September. 2015. This will be in the day time/early evening and could be very interesting in a social setting.

2. A possible live music event in which bitcoin will be the primary unit of exchange.

3. The general taxation issues about bitcoin still under discussion within the UK government.

4. Block chain technology as a means of security.

5. The future of altcoins.

Obviously there were more stuff discussed and next time I will get some sort of proper minuting of the meeting.

Nice amount of subjects to cover. maybe get a live feed on them and get some pod casts done or youtube events done for next meeting. Next few months am all out of time to do anything n call down. Maybe in future if have the time I will get me self down to one of your meetings :)

How did this event go? Was it filmed / will it be available online like the last Bitcoin event at Birmingham University ?

Hi, it wont be this time however there are plans for this to happen.

Meeting went well and the free refreshments were superb.

The main topics discussed were very wide ranging and varied from hacking attacks to business finance, and, using block chain technology as a 'pre-crime' type excluder to ATM machines.

There are plans to organise a large scale conference in Birmingham and this will be discussed at the next meeting in October date and time to be confirmed.

So I guess it went well  :) - Was the event recorded?

We decided that the nature of that last Meetup (being in a pub with not such a good lighting) would have meant a not so good recording, however, we have plans for a more structured live stream from a studio in the new year. The production manager is looking at better lighting but we have to weigh up the production and the aim (people having fun in a pub drinking and chatting about bitcoin/crypto currency etc).

Created new converts to crypto currency and the speakers were excellent. Malcolm, George and Don spoke eloquently about their area of speciality and could have filled a 10 hour show. We had 35 unique viewers which was down from the Crypto Currency Christmas Calendar Show but that was to be expected I suppose. In Maria Lynch 'A Star Has Been Born'

It was So Called Studio busiest night for musician practicing so we had a very subtle undertone of music during the streaming and apparently viewers liked it!

There will be more shows in the future and recordings will be posted as there is a new way to do editing without loads of hours in a editing suite.

Since crypto-currency has become a libertarian wet dream, there has been many issues which either create a bad impression or put ideas into the general public that it is run by individuals with dubious hobbies.

It also seems that governments all over the world have a view and instructed their civil services to either stop it or embrace it.

This webcast will look into all issues surrounding crypto currency and finalising how new ventures can get finances to play a part in this new financial paradigm.

The idea of another once a month meeting has been floated for some time and finally needs addressing.

Having meetings in other areas and linking up with other groups within the Midlands and beyond as the rush of ideas about the future of crypto currency and blockchain technology grow more fervent.

Free snacks will be available at the meeting as it is Knavecoins 4th Birthday and it has been a rocky road in the great experiment in creating an artistic coin for the masses and not just the few.

There are new ways of getting involved in crypto currency. A lot of it is bewildering and complicated, therefore Alan, a staunch member of the group will be giving a seminar about the latest development. Please be aware that with the latest news the agenda may well be fluid.

This time last year we were on the road to creating a cool conference on crypto currency and block chain technology.

Now, due to unsure markets, venue gazumping and other unfortunate circumstances we are scrambling to organise anything remotely equivalent to last years #BitBrum. However, there is an alternative way of doing a mass meeting by using technology and keeping it free. - Live Streaming.

At the next meetup there will be a list of venues that could fit the bill but obviously the most important element would be content. It is something we have done before, so we need ideas and preferably fresh ideas.
