Title: noobularkid is a scammer!!!
Post by: BurntSnow on August 09, 2012, 02:01:44 AM
The user has made two threads so far attempting to sell Terraria and Borderland's virtual items to the community. The items can be easily obtained through several programs that are well-known to users who play the game. Whenever someone accuses him of ripping people off, he gets defensive and tells them to leave the thread because they're 'ruining his business'. It would be best for all of us if he were to be flagged as a scammer before he causes anyone an inconvenience. The threads can be found here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99207.0) and here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99195.0).

EDIT:
Disregard the above "speculation." He actually *has* scammed someone now. More information in this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=99233), he owes Eisenhower34 some BTC. Here is noobularkid's contact information-
Name: James Byrnes
Phone: 734 612 3987
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/james.byrnes.568
Other details, like proof of residence: http://ul.to/2ftn9rjp
And once again, I was also right in claiming that he was a child. It's very apparent from his Facebook page.

Knowledge is worth money, on it's own. If someone isn't able to research a cheaper way to do it themselves, that's their fault.

I have to agree with Maged on this one. Disregarding my personal opinion on his offerings, I wouldn't classify him as a scammer, provided he delivers when someone pays.

Charging a price higher than something is worth is not scamming. Now, if he was advertising them as "rare" when they are not then that is a scam.

And he's also requesting a "loan".  I'm SHOCKED.

Imo, if he gets the items the legit way (eg: not genning them) then he can call them rare, because they ARE rare

He's charging for free items. And technically, paid is more "valuable" than free in every case.

you can make the same argument to a lot of stuff. should you be able to interrupt a someone selling snake oil? or a person offering deceitful games? (like the one where you guess which cup has a ball under it) NO WAY! knowledge is money and you should move along, while they get scammed.

also, it's "your", not "you're"

You would almost think that you are paid to shit upon threads... but you just really enjoy humping that keyboard enforcing nonexistent perfection on the world as you see it. Pretty sad.

You know do know that forum posts (or for that matter, anything you say) are supposed to substantiated by a proper argument, rather than a bunch of personal attacks. I replied to his post with a proper argument, but he responded with a bunch of insults, which shows TECSHARE to be an immature person.

I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I am siding with noobularkid. He is not a scammer.

But don't be confused. He is a spammer.

He pretty much just came out and said tough luck he doesn't have it and moved on to the next person.... Trying to solicit work from people.
