1)Download the zip file from BitAddress: https://www.bitaddress.org

2)Unplug PC ethernet or disable wireless network connection so PC is completely offline.

3)Extract zip file onto a folder on the desktop, then double click on the bitaddress.org file inside this folder to launch bitaddress offline website.

4)Mouse around and type letters into the textbox until your public and private keys and QR codes are generated.

5)Once generated, click on Paper Wallet and 3 wallet addresses with both public and private keys available to use.  Highly recommended to plug into a printer via USB to print your Paper Wallets, then you should be able to fund them safely.

6)Once funded, place them in a zip lock bag or air tight plastic bag or laminated paper to water proof.

7)Close out of the offline BitAddress site, and restore your internet connection

8)Stick them in fire proof safe or keep a few for spending.

That's old school antiquated directions from 2013, there's a Github repository zip file at the bottom of BitAddress.org now.  No need to save the entire website to thumb drive for offline wallet creation.

Thank you very much, I will try this with my old printer that can't connect internet for driver.

New printers can connect internet for driver and some of them connect for social media photos. Old printers are more safer as you told. Thank you again.

No problem!  As long as you download this first https://github.com/pointbiz/bitaddress.org/archive/v2.9.8.zip and launch on offline PC, there really should be no "eyes" on your screen, and you should be able to safely generate your paper wallet.

Should I lock my housemate in his room? :)

Hahah, that is true!  You'll be free from "Internet Eyes", but hopefully your housemate doesn't have a photogenic or eidetic memory and isn't snooping around.   :D

My suggestions:

1)Download the zip file from BitAddress: https://www.bitaddress.org

If you are using Bitaddress, you will find https://github.com/cantonbecker/bitcoinpaperwallet a little better. It is a fork of Bitaddress.org but it is created just for paper wallet and have same features.

2)Unplug PC ethernet or disable wireless network connection so PC is completely offline.

3)Extract zip file onto a folder on the desktop, then double click on the bitaddress.org file inside this folder to launch bitaddress offline website.

Okay.

4)Mouse around and type letters into the textbox until your public and private keys and QR codes are generated.

If you have special characters on your keyboard, to get extra entropy, type special characters too. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=43496.msg10331992#msg10331992

Okay.

7)Close out of the offline BitAddress site, and restore your internet connection

I would also suggest wiping browser data(history+cache+AppData etc...).

8)Stick them in fire proof safe or keep a few for spending.

One or two for long-term storage and a few other for daily spending is good.

It is easy to spend from a paper wallet, if you use one of these:

• Andreas Schildbach's Bitcoin Wallet(Highly recommended). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.schildbach.wallet&hl=en
• Bitcoin Paper Wallet. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.valle.btc&hl=en
• Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycelium.wallet&hl=en

I recently created Vanity (custom) addresses for my paper wallets (cold and backup) using Vanitygen (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25804.0) and QRCode generator (https://code.google.com/p/qrencode-win32/wiki/Downloads)  ;)

Use Lifeboat's vanitygen which is faster because it supports compressed keys. It is an updated one and better. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301068.0

If you want the ultimate in security and paranoia then download a copy of bitaddress.org and open it on a new virtual machine that has never been connected to the internet. Produce some paper addresses and send coins to them. Store copies of the paper wallet in multiple secure locations.

Paper wallets are Bitcoin wallets made out of paper containing your public wallet address, QR code and funded with your Bitcoins for storing or spending.

Ideally, you'd want the private key....private.  Otherwise, someone else can have control over your stash.
