Title: [BtcBB] - Forum Software made for crypto enthusiast [Market Software]
Post by: Skyenet on March 17, 2015, 08:35:48 PM
update: 7/31/2015 We are now using ASP.NET, MVC, Bootstrap, VS2015

Hey guys I would like to let you guys up on on of my current projects BtcBB which will be a forum software for crypto users that will be offering a wide range of multiple features that are made specifically to help out users and just mainly ideas I had that I would like to see implemented into a forum software that I wanted.

https://i.imgur.com/vGqFo13.png

What is BtcBB mainly used for?
The main purpose of me launching BtcBB would be purely for marketplace based forums and other means. I will be putting in a bunch of features and removing some if I feel unnecessary. I will just go ahead and skip to the main features I will be adding to this forum software.

Below will be the main list of features coming with BtcBB

Wallet:
Upon registering a account with us you will be given your own wallet you will be using on the forums. With this you can use it to trade with multiple people on the forums or tip people as you may want. There are many things you can do in your wallet tab.
  • View all transactions
  • Withdraw or Deposit Funds
  • Send to forum user
  • Create a party wallet - This will be discussed in another category below.
  • 3 Step Auth - Users can choose to use this feature to protect their wallet in case of their forum account being hacked. They will need to follow these steps to use their wallet funds (Email Code, SMS Code, Secret Answer)

Party Wallet:
With this feature I am implementing something called a party wallet where you can host more than 1 person to be the holder of the wallet. This being said I am making sure there are many safe features to it. This party wallet is for people who plan to do business together or with a group. Having this ensures many safety issues for members who feel very skeptical about others when investing money into another.
  • You can create up to 10 members to be in a party wallet
  • No one person will become the main holder as the party wallet will be held by all members
  • Users are not allowed to send funds out of the wallet without the majority of party holders agreement!
  • When sending funds out of wallet the user requesting will be prompt with reasons explaining why and it will be updated to the party wallets wall where the other holders of the accounts get to choose to allow the transaction. If approved the funds will be moved out. If not approved the request to send out funds will be denied.
  • All sent funds request will be logged (User submitted, Reason, Party vote, Amount, Date)

Forum Trading:
You can use this software to buy things from users and use your forum wallet to send and receive funds if you want sell or buy from the marketplace.
  • View all previous Trades
  • Reputation system (Nobody is allowed to post reputations at all unless they have made a transactions with Forum Wallet to another user to prevent rep abuse)
  • On thread creation of your topic you can add your shop and price where people can automatically purchase your content
  • Receiving 3 negative feedback leading to scam reports will prevent your account from using your forum wallet, buying, selling, and many other features on the site. If you have available balances on your account it will be simply donated or used in a party wallet for donations towards users etc. Don't be a scammer and you will be fine. (All scam report will be viewed by staff and market mods in a poll vote if the report is legitimate)

Vendors [Advanced FT Feature]:
The vendor feature is a more advanced feature for Forum Trading which can only be unlocked!
  • User must reach a certain amount of FT reputations to unlock rank + Fee
  • Once a Vendor you have unlocked features that can help out your shop using our software!
  • Access to add keys, downloads, etc to your topic where members can automatically buy from your shop
  • Receiving 5 legitimate shady or scam reports permanently revokes your access to vendor and prevents any buying or selling on the forum (All scam report will be viewed by staff and market mods in a poll vote if the report is legitimate)

Escrow Services:
We will have a option where only Staff and Market Mods can view all submitted escrow request. Both Mod and Staff will overlook the escrow request and handle it. There will always be a 1-5% escrow fee sent to the staff or mod who overlooked and conducted the escrow request.
  • Direct and private conversations with the escrow and members in escrow
  • Funds will be checked and can be visible in party wallet. Once the escrow verifies contents they will post a send funds request for the other parties to send the funds
  • Escrow handler takes a flat 1-5% fee
  • All escrow request and transactions are view-able to public

Crowd-Funding
If you are a developer or you need to crowd fund for something you plan on doing we have a built in system which you can post your ideas. Users can come in and view your request and choose to fund in you if they want to or not. Once you have met your goal your funds will be released once a Proof of Concept is released and you have proved you have done what you intended. Staff will be assigned purely for this to prevent any of those scam findings.

There are many more features we plan to add but this is the general gist of what we have in mind.

What other features do you want to see?
Just go ahead and tell us what you think should be added and we will look into making it happen if its in our time and budget.

Donate to BtcBB?
We are accepting donations if you want to help fund this project as it will take a lot of time and budget to get this to where we are. If you feel like you want to tip us you can sent it to: 1KB8HJqfaBPnHN4kk4NZJPQFwqrUTrGNzc

This thread will be constantly updating with features, pictures, and more! so make sure to keep an eye on it!

Interesting. I use a Bitcoin only payment system and felt that in order to increase access to buyers I needed a direct sale method from user to user like you are doing. My system required the buyer make a cash deposit to the sellers bank so they needed time to get there after they agreed to buy. I incorporated two time limit settings (both set by the seller). The first started when the buyer said they were going to buy. The second started after the buyer said they made the deposit. The possible outcomes were 1) the buyer said they would buy but never finished or 2) they did make the deposit or 3) claim to make the deposit but didn't. If the buyer performed #1, the coins were unfrozen and returned to the seller's control (back for sale). If the buyer did the second then the funds continued to be frozen (to save them for the buyer) and the second time limit started (which was established by the seller to provide them time to verify the deposit). If #3 was detected by the seller then they submitted an arbitration request which continued the freeze indefinitely.

The other thing that could occur in the second possibility is that the seller neglected to check their account and the timer expired. If that happened (or the seller got hit by a bus) the buyer got their coin automatically assuming that their report of payment was true.

That seems to cover all the possibilities and might be something to include in the forum.

Yes that is a feature we will be having. When someone purchases from a person they have 24 hours to respond respond to the purchase. If no response funds will be send back to the buyer.

We will also have a feature where Vendors and sellers can put on vacation. If they are on vacation they will be automatically set to deny payments.

I thought it better to let the seller pick the amount of time though. With so many Smart phone users, a buyer could be in front of the bank, agree to buy, make the payment and report the payment in just a few moments. With that realization I personally would probably limit it to a half hour. If the buyer can't comply that is sort of his own problem and I lose the potential buyer but, oh well.

That is an excellent idea and that gave me another ... set a daytime/night time mode so if a seller only wants to sell from, say, 9 to 5 (business hours) they can.

Have anything online yet?

So is this an actual forum website, or are you developing and selling the software?

Not only would I ask for the actual instantiation of it (is it a concrete site or a turn-on project to deploy=)

You mention SMS alert. What API does it use for SMS and what kind of providers (and what countries) is SMS message capable to reach?

S.

With the downfall of the Evo darkweeb I am not developing for some vendors and trusted mods of that forums into making a new one. This is temp on hold.

Let's say you continue with this project, would you be using custom forum software like.. Zenforo {Hope I have the correct spelling} or do you plan on creating something from the start?

This would be a interresting project to follow, if you can succeed in getting enough funding to get it off the ground.

The most important thing to concentrate on, will have to be the security of the wallet. { There are too many services providing wallets with substandard security }

Anyway.... Good luck OP, hope this will become a reality.

Do you develop the forum from scratch or do you use some other open source code as base?

What language is the software written in? I'm guessing it's written in PHP?

Will the script be available for purchase like vBulletin is today or is it only intended to be used for a single website? And will the final website be hosted on Tor or on the wider Internet?

We are using Php + MySQL with the style of Bootsrap.
The script won't be openly available like vBulletin etc. It will be only allowed 5 licenses per year
It can be used for clearnet and darknet

5 licenses per year? So does that mean that only 5 copies of the software will be sold per year?

How will the selling process work? Will there be a public auction?

Also, I don't see how it would be possible to prevent people from reselling the script especially in the context of the darknet. ???

There will be no auction and we have a way to prevent it =D

We will have a panel where we can access and view current licenses. Once a user has bought our software when they will be generated a custom version which we had hidden license watermarks in certain snippets. Every single file is encoded as well with a custom encoding. When they upload their files to their host upon installation it will also require them to request a key from our sever.

Once they request a key it will prompt on our server and we will validate and confirm if it is our actual client. If it is approved they can continue to install it on their site. If denied it will prompt that they are denied.

We can gurantee our files will be secure but just in case someone plans on leaking the files we will know which customer it is and issue a global ban to the main client who purchased from us. And I am pretty sure they will not want to leak it for the price they are paying.
