Bitcoin budget: George Osborne to outline measures for cryptocurrency

UK Chancellor George Osborne is set to make an announcement in the budget 2015 speech (taking place on 18 March) outlining the Treasury's consultation on bitcoin and digital currency technology, according to people familiar with the matter.

The government has announced its intention to apply anti-money laundering regulation to digital currency exchanges in the UK. It is hoped that regulation will not only prevent criminal use of digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, but support innovation.

Well I hope that's just not the excuse they use to throttle it under the guise of 'safety'.

their whole economy is based on fintech so i would say - yes.  :)
