Because AT&T locked the bootloaders to any phone that took the OTA past that version in teh USA - That means, I cannot run any custom roms that I would like to. I already got burned by a guy on Ebay who told me he was on that FW, then i got the phone and it's on the next version so he took the OTA without knowing or scamming me. Samsung's updates blow physical fuses on the board, making it un-downgrade-able. Edit - if anyone knows of a good smartphone that can do the following let me know: 1. Removable battery 2. SDHC slot 3. Rootable, able to load custom roms like GPE latest, without Safestrap. 4. A good selection of roms. - I dont mind downgrading at this point, locked bootloaders suck! Thanks!
