The code for the rating system is really simple and doesn't have any errors that would cause something like that. I tested it out on Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer all works fine for me. It could possibly be a cache issue on your end, if it reappears or you can reproduce it please clear cookies and cache and see if it still does it.
