Title: Any Movie recommendations?
Post by: KryptonS on March 24, 2015, 03:31:38 AM
I'm really bored right now and I want movie recommendations. I prefer action and comedy. But if you believe that I'm missing out on a specific movie feel free to list it down and I'll watch it :)

Yes there are lots of threads already that recommend movies and tv shows. Type "movie recommendations" in the search bar and you'll find them.  ::)

If you are in bad mood, I recommend you to watch comedy like Grown Ups 1 and 2. This movie is so funny and it will make you feel better, for sure.

Try Edge of Tomorrow (2014)  It's Tom Cruise in a funny action flick about him repeating the same day over and over.

 ::) Oh my  ::)

Jacky Chan, Spongebob, Tom Cruise's worst ever movie, some bollywood stuff...

I guess I'll go somewhere else if I ever need a movie recommendation.

Anyway, I stand by Kingsman Secret Service, which is really the best movie I've seen this year, otherwise you could check out Focus (gotta love Margot Robbie), The Giver, Divergent, The Hobbit serie and also Pacific Rim, if you haven't seen it already.

actually the HDTS version (by Menacell Society) is pretty good. all languages translated, double subbed (English, Chinese) and no screen shakes.

I don't usually enjoy action-comedy movies that much, it's either action or comedy for me but not both in the same movie. Of course there are exceptions, my favorite is Kung Fu Hustle and I also liked the Rush Hour series. Of recent movies, I quite liked The Equalizer and Interstellar, comedy-wise I thought Horrible Bosses 2 was pretty cool.

Matrix The fight scenes in it are crazy, definitely some of the best I've seen in recent memory.

I'd recommend Birdman, saw it the other day. It's a masterclass of acting and screenplay, with a striking satirical view on the current Hollywood scene. It's set in and around a Broadway theatre, and the incredible cinematography really brings the location to life, with the theatre almost becoming a character in its own right. It's filmed in what appears to be a single continuous steadicam shot, which gives the impression that you're floating around the theatre, invisibly following the actors.

I loved it, even though it was not what I was expecting at all. Bear in mind that although Michael Keaton may have superhero powers in the movie, it's not an action film and has a lot of dialogue, so if you're looking for a action thriller then this is not it. I can see why some might find it pretentious, but for me it was simply satisfyingly clever.

So yeah, Birdman, go watch it.  ;)

If you haven't seen Interstellar, I reccomend it.
Or you can watch good older ones like Fight Club, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Clockwork Orange, Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind. If you feel like watching something light and fun: Back to the future trilogy, throw some Wes Anderson and watch The Royal Tennenbaums. Maybe animation? How to train your dragon (3d) or Song of the Sea (2d). A comedy maybe?: This is the End.
:) enjoy

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Watching Tuco and Blondie trying to outsmart each other whilst being forced to work together makes this film almost a comedy.
RIP Mr Wallach.

'Look Back in Anger' with Richard Burton

'Spaceballs'

Dead Poet's Society.

Awakenings with Robin Williams and DeNiro

Heat with Pacino and Deniro

Elmer Gantry
