Follow the money. I am sure the companies who make these rounds are run by people who know people in positions of power in the government. It is just another way for the rich guys in congress to give some more money to their rich friends at the expense of the taxpayers.

In the government contracting business this is called a "BPA" or "Blanket Purchase Agreement". The purpose is to reduce paperwork for both the purchasing agency and the contractor. Agencies like BPAs because they only have to negotiate specifications one time, and because it forces the contractor to prove they can supply that capacity (100 bulldozers, 12,000 data entry clerks, etc.). Contractors like them because they are guaranteed a revenue stream for the next five years. They can show that to banks to get better financing.

I know what you mean.  99% of the screamers promoting this DHS ammunition story have never burned through a case of ammo on a Saturday afternoon.  The numbers play to their ignorance and fear of guns.

They shriek about a Blanket Purchase Agreement without knowing what one is, then go silent when the little lady at the I.R.S. sends them a notice to appear at her desk Monday morning for a review of their checking account.

When I was younger we would go to a shooting range in Meaford Ontario and shoot full auto weapons..... It was fun..... I still enjoy shooting rifles .308 I have not been hunting in years though :(
