Title: What is the best PoW+PoS coin codebase?
Post by: fartbags on March 29, 2015, 08:15:54 PM

What is the best PoW+PoS coin codebase?

THC The Hemp Coin:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506320
is looking to work off of the same code base as other PoW+PoS coins.

Which code base should THC switch to?

NOBL switched to PoW (only a short time) + PoS using the PoS codebase of Magi (XMG). Contact eagleflies for more information about NOBLE's PoS-II, he developed most of the stuff. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=399659

I would go with BC v2.

Any on my Github, depending on what specs you want

Whether you like the coins or not, they work perfectly

And what make Hyperstake's code better then compared to Spot's code?  ???

OP only wants the code as base and not for just cloning it 1:1 as i've understood, so where would be the difference?

All codes look good to me as a start if you want to change the stats like POW and POS.

Heck, you can even use all other sources of POW/POS coins depending on your skills. But the biggest showstopper will always be compiling the windows wallet. ;D

about 486 (https://github.com/hyperstake/HyperStake/commits/master) commits better

A very advanced coin control (http://oi58.tinypic.com/2hp0tmq.jpg)

Multisend (http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/Multisend) is unique to HyperStake. MultiSend allows a user to automatically send a percent of their stake reward to as many addresses as you would like up to 100% of the stake generated

Inflation control (http://hyperstake.wikia.com/wiki/Inflation_control) which is a must for PoS

Plus being able to manage your split threshold for blocks, a themable wallet, compile with autotools, and a metric shit ton of fun rpc calls.

I'm sure there is something I'm missing

Mr Green.  Spots code has a lot of bugs in it that he refuses to fix.  Multiple times PoW has failed to switch to PoS (ECash and 10k are good examples) and wallets are just thrown together with no care for them at all.
Hyperstake is much more stable and has far more features.

Every word of this post is a lie, but I see the HYP dick riders are here so this thread is over now

Anyway, I highly suggest staying away from HYP unless you know how to manipulate modifiers

Hmmm say what girlfriend?

"manipulate modifiers" lol that is classic. Every proof of stake coin has a modifier interval & ratio that you will need to change to match up with your minimum stake time.

This is a poor attempt of a desperate fool trying to sound like he knows more than everyone else. Here is the exact same modifier setup in 10k... which surprise surprise is the exact same as peercoin, just like the rest of the PoS coins (including HYP). https://github.com/iGotSpots/10k/blob/master/src/kernel.h#L10

Anyways, to the OP, HYP is best used as something to cherry pick commits from. Find the commit with the feature you want and use it (if you want). Lots of other coins have been using HYP's code for a while. I don't recall any of them using code from igotspots? Is there any unique code?

Depends on the feature set you're looking for.

10k's switch from POW to POS went without a problem and without a new client release, so what you've said is wrong.

For me 10k's code is clean, i've looked into it because i'am playing around at the moment with coin creation for self education. I also looked into some other coins code for the learning aspect and i must say that nearly all clones of peercoin are good for starters.

Their coin must be doing great since they have so much free time to follow me around and respond to every post I make in any thread, usually with blatant, verifiable lies. Maybe you should listen to them instead  ::)

Each of my 3 coins has a higher individual market cap than HYP. Shit, even TIX, which I haven't touched in like two years, is worth more. You're right, though, no clue what I'm talking about

I apologize for the incorrect information.  I was confusing the BALLS switch over with 10k.  This was my mistake.
