I'm new to BTC. I'm in Singapore right now, and I want to buy some BTCs. Mt Gox only open to US user.

Anybody can help?

Mt Gox is open to international users through international wire transfers. You need to email them, and then they will give you the wiring instructions.

Go to OTC (http://bitcoin-otc.com/) and ask around. Someone is always selling BTC for Paypal.

Clearcoin holds bitcoins until both parties are satisfied. That doesn't help you get money to someone who has coins for you to buy which seems to be your problem here.

I'm not sure how to "do a wire" to Mt Gox.

Hmm, I'm not seeing where it says international wire on the site now. I guess send an email to info@mtgox.com to see if it is possible from Singapore, assuming you have a bank account.

And I find a guy in Singapore who would like to sell me at 1.15 to 1.2 times the Mt Gox price.

I'm a bit hesitate to deal with him.

at 1.2x I would take my chances with however long it takes at MtGox, hard to say though. There are a lot of people who saw the price move 100% on them while waiting for funds to move. 

Does the guy in Singapore want to meet in person? Maybe agree to a small amount and then see if he wants to do more at a better rate when the cash is right there? Even if he doesn't at least you get some quickly.

i move around between the UK and Singapore. Just do at at the OTC, it's really much easier :)

Yes, I meet the guy with my laptop and give him the money. He transfered the BTCs on the mybitcoin.com to my account. Then I transfered to my own account.

I would be happy to trade some BTC for Chinese Yuan. I understand you can acquire small amounts in Singapore but, as you know, we can't get them here easily in the USA.  That might make a profitable business for you.
