Welcome to the internet... its full of geniuses and specialists offering their "opinions" for free!

Come on you guys. Trolls are good for us. They often bring to light points that we wouldn't have thought of otherwise. The biggest point that they bring to light is that they show us how much strength of belief and commitment we have in the things we say. If we don't have the desire to shoot down a troll, why do we even post in the first place? In that case, get a free website and start a blog that nobody will ever look at.

It's precisely because you're asking these questions that trolls do what they do ;) It's purely to get a kick out of screwing with people, even if it's just getting them to question whether they're really trolling or not.

Nobody ever agrees 100% with anyone else. Part of the reason for this is that nobody can get into the complete thinking of anyone else.

Regular forum members, borderline trolls, and real trolls are all there to discuss. The stupid trolls can be bypassed easily, because they show that don't know anything simply by their language.

The smart trolls bring up good points that need investigation. People can find out if their ideas are right or wrong, simply by listening and examining what a smart troll has to say.

Borderline trolls are standard members who are fighting so hard for points that they believe, that they troll a bit in their fight.

What you mean by 'trolls' are actually sane individuals who tell you mean things that you don't want to hear. Namely that those coins you bought for $500 are going lower in price.

Any bumps to a quality thread is a good thread bump, no matter how dumb the message is.

Some of them are paid trolls, we've had confirmation of this on various threads on the topic.

There are likely many different trolls here for many different reasons. Some financial and some are just sad losers who don't have anything better to do but (try) annoy people on the internet. They then get their kicks when people react.

The question is, when you get two commenters who have opposite points of view, and who continually stand up for their opinions by posting many times in response to each other, are they trolls? If they are, which one is, or are they both for simply expressing their points of view in a strong way?

There's a difference between having a difference of opinion and straight up trolling, though it is hard to tell the difference sometimes. A troll purposely posts controversial opinions to rile people up and are probably not their own personal beliefs.

Not to get too conspiratorial but I reckon there are paid shills on this forum. Maybe some from the gov or banks who are employed to spread fud. I believe some governments have paid people to cause problems before. Just google paid internet trolls.

Trolls have been around forever.  In the precursor to the World Wide Web there were places called "flame boards" specifically for these people.
