WooCommerce, always! I personally would never recommenced Shopify to my clients. We keep things owned by our clients when we build and develop for them. It’s sketchy not to, in my opinion. At the end of the day, you should own your site, your domain name, etc.

OK, so possibly a slight newbie question here.  I have both gourl.io and woocommerce installed and activated on my WP installation.  Having done that, I can now see that the cryptocurrencies have been added to the dropdown under currency options in woocommerce.  And if I select one it changes the currency that my prices are displayed in.

I have no desire to sell my products for fiat.  I only want to accept BTC (or alt) payments.  But, I'd like to configure it so that my catalogue prices - which are fiat based (in my case GBP) - are used as the basis for pricing in BTC, with a floating GBP/BTC exchange rate.  For example, if I have an item priced at £20, I'd like the BTC price displayed on my website to be 20 divided by the current GBP/BTC exchange rate (at current exchange rates, about BTC0.13 . 

Is this possible? If so, how?

I've successfully set up the Bitcoin Payment Box (on a membership) but am failing miserably when I try to set up DASH and Doge. I have set up the public and private keys and see they are activated, but the Bitcoin shows as default.

So I go to get the Woo Commerce set up (think I already had) and it's activated, but not configured. It's so confusing up to this point.

It would be nice if there were clear instructions or examples as there is so many confusing aspects from BB Press, to WooCommerce to all the plug ins that show up in WordPress, with the exception of the one I want....Woo Commerce (and again it's activated, but not configured apparently) and I cannot seem to find instructions on how. Normally with the plug ins its automatic.

So I have the Payment Box working for Bitcoin on a Test. Now trying to take the next step and add DASH and Dogecoin, then I can work on monetization.

Hey thanks for the 3 links. Yah I have activated Woo Commerce but when I follow instructions in the vid, Woo Commerce never shows up in the dashboard, so I can't hover over it and go to settings in fact, I can't even find it. I can find that its activated, but all the links take back to the home page of Woo Commerce, which doesn't help me get to settings.
I don't know if the issue is my dashboard is filled with plug ins I never use, and Woo Commerce never made the board! Who knows!
What I am trying to do is get Doge, DASH payment boxes set up, and I have Bitcoin set up successfully. But I was needing some of that Woo Commerce help anyway. Just so many bells and whistles and a stumbling block right off the bat without being able to find it in the Dashboard.

My problem is I had started with the Woo Commerce for Bitcoin and Alt Coins. I didn't start with the WOOCOMMERCE (search) for WordPress plug in. I got that, and Woo Commerce showed up in the Dashboard. I think I am good to go...at least on track. Now back to getting DASH and Doge Payment boxes set up! Thanks

To the others. Search woocommerce (just like that) and look for the elephant snuphalapagus looking cartoon character, was the first plug in that popped up. Get that one apparently and don't get confused with WooCommerce / Bitcoin / Altcoin plug ins! Start with woocommerce! (this is part of the confusion, hope it clarifies it the next guy)

OK next confusing part. Woo Commerce has a set up for what currency. Starts out in British LB / Sterling.  Well I want to base my prices off of the USD (Dollar) but....I want to accept Bitcoin, Doge, and Dash only at this time. I don't even want to think about fiat at this time. I want the conversions to happen between the currencies.
OK so it asks me to add a currency, but it also has Bitcoin, Doge, and Dash as options. So which currency do I set it up with initially?
Maybe later I will accept USD (or convert other currencies to USD) and accept Paypal, Visa, etc, but for now just want to accept DOGE, DASH, and Bitcoin and my goal is to get the payment boxes set up correctly, and I have Bitcoin set up successfully now, just working on DASH, and Doge.
This portion is not real clear, but then again, instructions are for a youtube vid for Woo Commerce. I am not finding how to set the currency up right the first time. Any advice?

Hey I am trying some test on Pay Per membership.
Got a video on that? The Woo Commerce instructions are the most confusing instructions I have ever seen in my life. I haven't given up, but pretty close.

I have set up a pay per view, and got that to work. Can't figure out the pay per membership. Doing mock with some wildlife photography I have. Have first image I want to put up, and then they pay for membership and have access to all the rest I want to include, but can't find any clear instructions.

I figured I'd give Woo Commerce a shot, but I'm soon going to look at other gateways if I can't get any clear instructions. Please advise.

OP, could you provide clarification of these statements please?


If the funds are forwarded "within 30 minutes" then that must mean that:

1) Customer Funds are initially paid to an address controlled by GoUrl, not by me (merchant)
2) For some period of time ( even if only 1 second ) the funds are within your control, not mine.
3) The private keys for the addresses you control may be stored on your servers, or may possibly be stored offline.

I found this thread while looking for a shopping cart solution where:

1) Funds are paid directly from customer to me ( merchant )
2) It is not necessary for me to have private keys on the server.  Eg, I would pre-generate addresses or use bip32/xpub for shopping cart.

But if I understand correctly, you do not provide the solution I am looking for.   Rather, you insert yourselves into the middle so that you can take a cut, right?

How do you deal with point (3) above?   Do you keep any keys on the server?   Or if not, then exactly how are you providing unique addresses for each purchase?

Some websites with high traffic show more than 10,000 pages are viewed per hour and our installed gourl bitcoin payment box is seen on those pages also. It is impossible for each payment box to show a new unique generated bitcoin payment address for each website visitor because our system would then need to store millions of temporary bitcoin addresses and would be slow in its operation (For example - a 10,000 pages view per hour/payment boxes x 200 high traffic websites with our payment gateway would require no less than 2,000,000 temporary bitcoin addresses).

How it works -

We add to your amount in the payment box a small fraction after the decimal point to uniquely identify each of your visitors individually. Users who have made payments with wrong amount are not recognised and you need to process such payments manually. You can see a separate table on your account with details of incorrect/unrecognised received payments.

We forward you ALL coins received on your internal wallet address/es including all payments with incorrect amounts (unrecognised payments).

Our system will automatically add an additional new generated internal wallet address to your payment box each time you have received 3 new payments. (This will give you more privacy). So, if you have received 30 bitcoin payments from your customers you will receive 10 internal wallet addresses for that payment box and for the next payments, customers will see those 10 internal bitcoin wallet addresses in random order in their bitcoin payment boxes. So the customer will not know how many total payments you have received. At the same time our gateway stays fully transparent for you and you can see the balance of each of your internal wallet addresses using the external block explorer.

So say the user pays 1 bitcoin when they were supposed to pay 1.00023 bitcoin.   What happens to the 1 bitcoin that they paid?   Is it at least identified as belonging to the merchant?  The merchant still receives those funds after manual processing, yes?


Why would you generate a BTC address for each impression?   Typically an address should only be generated/assigned once a user is ready to actually make payment with bitcoin, ie final stage of checkout.   I can't think there is all that much traffic at this point.

Incorrect payment will be forwarded to Seller also. Each Gourl Bitcoin Payment Box has unique internal bitcoin wallet address(es).
ALL Bitcoins received on that address(es) will be automatically forwarded to seller(payment box owner) wallet address every 30 minutes.

If buyer contacts us, regarding the incorrect sent payment, we will forward buyer to seller (because our system forwards all received payments to seller external wallet automatically every 30 minutes). We provide a payment gateway only. Seller need to deal with buyer directly (for example,  manually mark the payment as received in his system) or return the incorrect payment back to buyer. We provide full statistics; in unrecognised payments statistics table, seller will see the original payment sum and transaction ID.

Seller can easily re-check the total amount of bitcoins received from users on his internal gourl bitcoin address(es) and total amount of bitcoins later forwarded to seller own external bitcoin address with any external Bitcoin Block Explorer. What conversion rate is it using, though? Even excluding the obvious volatility of coins, how it's calculated means a lot. Some have a spread of 5%+, and if you're using the buy price to decide value, the sell price could be far less (meaning that $10 you just got only sells for 9).

We use Poloniex/Bitstamp exchange rates, update every 10min.

Also you can use option "Exchange Rate Multiplier" -
The system uses the multiplier rate with today LIVE cryptocurrency exchange rates (which are updated every 30 minutes) when the transaction is calculating from a fiat currency (e.g. USD, EUR, etc) to cryptocurrency. Example: 1.05 - will add an extra 5% to the total price in bitcoin/altcoins, 0.85 - will be a 15% discount for the price in bitcoin/altcoins. Default: 1.00

As the creator of a website concerning Electroneum (ETN) I am now looking at setting up a small woocommerce type store which I hope in the future will be able to accept ETN as a payment. Have you guys any plans to include ETN in your plugin? In the meantime I will install the plugin on my site as it seems like an excellent payment method for accepting cryptocurrency. I read too that I can cast a vote for future coins to be added when I use your plugin. I hope to do that if you can add ETN as an option to the voting page.
