Title: I am lucky guy! Bitcoin made me rich! {bitcoin roulette experience}
Post by: altcoinrichguy on May 05, 2015, 07:41:58 PM
Recently i found a new online bitcoin roulette (https://bitcoinbev.com) which accepted bitcoin, so i decided to give it a try. i registered and deposited some amount {the nice part was that i got 50% bonus on that}. after some nice playing i made 15x my initial deposit, however after 24 hours playing i decided to put the whole amount on BLACK. And as you can imagine this bet made my day black too. i lost everything.

After couple days i went there again and made a bigger deposit, luckily i won a lot of times and made some big money. this time i did not bet on black and withdraw the money immediately.

Thanks to that winning streak, now i have some decent amount of bitcoins in my wallet. I plan to go back to the roulette and try to win some more, so the questions is if i win some bigger amount {lets say over 100 bitcoins} where should i withdraw and safe-keep them? coinbase? circle?
if i keep them in some of these and if i decide to exchange them to cash, how long it will take for that?

I also contacted Bitcoin Beveren and asked if it is possible to send me the funds in fiat. The answer was positive but they said there will be a fee of at least 3%.

So what is the best option here?

Might be an idea to spread out the earnings over a few platforms/wallets.

Always look for something with multiple layers of security, such as multi-sig as a bare minimum requirement.

Online platforms are always a risk, though the ones you mentioned should be relatively safe :)

Make sure all your wallets are encrypted and the passwords are not something easily guessable.

Do not keep that large of an amount on an online service. You won't want to be goxxed or have another incident like input.io strike again. Rather buy a trezor or a leder wallet and store your coins. The current value of bitcoin is low, so don't convert to fiat just yet. Hold onto it as a trust fund.

Feels like a disguised post to promote the roulette site.

If it's not the case, download a wallet software (Armory, Electrum, Multibit, etc.) and store your coins there. When you don't truly control your private keys, you don't really own the bitcoins stored at the address.

If it's a big amount of BTC, you need to safe it in offline wallet. And if you want to change them to cash, it's depend to the price you sell for the BTC. Because more low the price more buyer will be.

I have read about offline wallet but i am not comfortable for doing that, its too scary for me.

I would probably go for a direct bank withdrawal.

Print out a paper wallet and keep it in your wallet. You should feel a bit more comfortable about that. Just don't store massive amounts on your online wallet.

That's not the problem. Anyone can do that with sufficient malware installed on the victims computer. The biggest and the most troubling problem is the reliability of the company that's keeping your private keys.  They could pack up and go whenever they want to.

yeah as we know online wallet hold our private key , but if the online wallet like big company blockchain i think they will never run only for 100 bitcoin , is not worth.

With it's current price it's not worth it. But there are another couple hundred thousand people who use their service, they are holding a large sum of money. Although they seem reputable, you can't put your trust in an anonymous irreversible currency. They can still run off with it.  You did mention the possibility of being hacked. That is severe. Look at inputs.io

prejudice is okay , but over prejudice is not good. just more take careful when you have a lot of bitcoin and its stored online and you know that priv key are hold by company it means they have access to your wallet to move as they want .

Don't store 100 BTC online.

If you want to keep them, move them to cold storage and let only small amounts in your hot wallet.

If you want withdraw FIAT withdraw to some small exchange.

And James Bond already shown us that if you want to go all-in, you must go on red.

What does he win by promoting that casino? The link is not a referral link and im almost sure he is not the admin or owner of the site or he would just promote it normally like everyone else, he even posted it here wich is a section that not many people see

Don't convert to fiat, cause when your gambling ego will reappear, you'd need to pay additional fees to convert your fiat back to bitcoin.
So better keep your btc on wallet so it's easy to deposit when you feel gambling mode again.

I agree, i also did buy into his story. Doubt anyone would write a novel, and then ask a single question, makes no sense.

But if by some chance he really needs advice regarding funds, it is only important that the wallet is offline and on removable device or paper wallet, then after you can keep it safe like you would do with any other physical thing.

cheers

I see a lot of comments about security and the likelihood of theft on a grand scale.  Mt Gox is one of a few high profile examples and in the case of Mt Gox it can be said with some confidence that it had a profound negative experience on bitcoin value.

I think there have been some important lessons because of these experiences.  Thieves have to really consider what they are doing and if the theft is worth it when the theft will cause what they stole to instantly depreciate in value.  I'm not saying that such a social contract will instantly stop bitcoin theft and of course there will always be those to do such a stunt not for monetary gain but simply to destroy and prove wrong what so many others love.

But to the OP.  Congrats on your winnings.  Fortune favors the bold!  And I agree with others... diversify how you use and store bitcoin.

Don't convert to fiat. Really bad idea. Bitcoin's price is shit right now, if you are talking about a lot of BTC as indicated in your OP, the slightest difference can mean huge increases of profit if you were to hold. Transfer them to a secure wallet like the ones mentioned above and stay safe.

congratulation on your winning, you're the lucky man
i think the best option is do not safe your bitcoin into exchange if you think bitcoin have a bright future and price gonna rise in the future
safe your bitcoin into your offline wallet, and don't forget to encrypt it with various password combination
but if you need some cash, you can place some bitcoin to exchange

OMG!  I have to go gamble right away and win money too!

Ok in all seriousness I strongly urge people to be careful when gambling.  It can be fun but make sure you limit your losses.  I look at it as entertainment, not investment.  So if I want to gamble I would give myself a reasonable budget like $10, and when that is gone I am done.  Numbers don't lie and most people will lose money in the long run.  Be careful guys!

About offline storage, the trezor is excellent but also expensive.  Ledger is cheaper and makes two models that are basically the exact same thing, but one is snazzier looking.  The less snazzy one is much cheaper, but personally I would get the more expensive one.  I tend to break things and the expensive one looks much more robust.

The ledger is supposed to be less secure than the trezor, but from what I understand the only downside is that it can be vulnerable to malware during installation.  So make sure your machine is clean.  But to be honest I didn't do much research, so if you have questions then ask the company.  I believe they are active on these boards.  Here is a link to Ledger and Trezor for convenience:

https://www.ledgerwallet.com/

https://www.bitcointrezor.com/

I believe both are available from third party retailers like amazon and ebay.

I have too tried to play there with some small amount, and what I saw was hilarious...
I did it the way the OP tried the game, and it was all the same...
You don't need any luck there actually, it's a bug there and I think OP should tell them regarding the same...
As due to that bug, the game also doesn't seem fair...

I think Trezor is the most safest wallet, if you win a lot of BTC. You can also use Multibit, if the BTC amount is not so large. Anyway Trezor can be the main choice.  ;)

I would still say to just go for paper wallets, buy a silver coin (wallet) and put the key into it, and then put it somewhere safely where you are sure you can store it...

Congratulation for your achievement.
But make sure your wallet security.
It's not wise decision to keep huge amount in your online wallet.
Please keep your bitcoin in offline wallet and encrypted with various password combination.

bitcoinbev made me rich to, but im still waiting for my 1000 btc to be paid.

First of all this website will not pay you anything, at least im still waiting for mine, so I doubt OP.

Second, the "3D roulette" runs on javascript which is client side, so it can be easily exploited.

POC:

CGame.js:317-363
Code:
this._generateWinLoss = function(){
...
var iRand = Math.floor(Math.random() * (38));
...
return _iNumberExtracted;

Exploited CGame.js:363
Code:
return 7; //ma lucky number

Inject the new CGame.js and delete the old one from the site (using chrome).

In my opinion you should use Blockchain wallet if you want to use online services. If you are thinking about security, keep in mind that none of the online services is safe.  ;D  Once hackers decided to take down some wallet sites they will do it no matte what. :P  As far as I know, Blockchain wallets has never been attacked, and I haven't heard about people having any problems with it.

Print out a paper wallet and keep it in your wallet. You should feel a bit more comfortable about that. Just don't store massive amounts on your online wallet.

You probably should carry around all your money in your "wallet's wallet" too.  :D  Seriously though, you shouldn't.  lol  Leave the paper in a safety deposit box or fire proof safe if you have one.  You can pick one up for like 50 dollars and can put all your passports, SS cards and such in it.
