Q: How does SEPA payment work?

A: You enter your invoice details, name and e-mail. On the next screen, you will see the amount of Bitcoins you need to send to a specific Bitcoin address. After we receive Bitcoins, we will carry out the SEPA bank transaction in euros. We have secured enough euros on our bank accounts to keep the service running smoothly. You do not need to worry if or when or where we will sell the Bitcoins you sent to us, or if we keep the Bitcoins. Once we see your transaction, we will pay your bill using euros which are already available.

No, Estonian bank, as It had all automation connection points needed and is free and fast. Inside EU one can open bank account in any EU member country :)

This is a great service! I just want to know do you support all 28 EU state members or just Eurozone which national currency is Euro? Nine EU countries are still using their national currencies.

The 28 member states of the European Union, including
- the 19 states that are in the Eurozone: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain
- the 9 states that are not in the Eurozone: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Sweden, United Kingdom.

The 3 states having signed the European Economic Area agreement: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway.

A few other countries with agreements with the EU: Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland.

Could you explain what's the difference betw the ref number field and the description field?

ref number is for banks and big companies, eg if you have automated systems that mark invoices payments status, then this reference numbering system is used.
description is free text field, where you can write what you want receiver (beneficiar) to see on their bank statement.

Yes, only one is required reference or details. In details you can write what ever you like.

As of 16 February 2018, Payster Oy (the operator of piixPay.com) services are now available on the territory of about 25% of the world's land area. Payment services for paying your bills, sending money to a friend or family or even to yourself are now available in 102 countries or territories. All payments are sent no later than on the next business day and processed by bank according to international standards. Payments to European SEPA member countries will arrive in the beneficiary's account in 1 to 3 business days. In other countries, transfer time may be up to 5-7 business days.

In order to use the piixPay.com service, you only need the beneficiary's name and bank account IBAN. The service cannot be used without IBAN. There is no need for BIC or SWIFT - only a name and IBAN.

PiixPay is an excellent service because it does not require account registration and it accepts Bitcoin Cash. Also, bills get paid pretty much immediately.

What rate does Piixpay use? It is currently stuck for hours @ 7604.49€ without moving up or down for hours...

edit: the rate is still 7604.49 even though the rate @ bitstamp is 8300€

hi, we are improving it, currently when rate goes up'n'down piixpay holds it low to see where it goes in few hours. piixpay is not exchange so rate does not come from buy/sell balance.

If you have trouble using our Bitcoin Cash format (your wallet does not support it), then you can use converter:

Enter our given BCH address there, click "convert" and click on "Legacy".
Now send yout BCH to that address and your EUR payment is taken care of.

So users have to get verified trough ID to send a payment now??? I do not think thats good for your service as many prefere to stay anonymous when sending a crypto to sepa transfer.
I also don‘t like this new feature to be honest. You schould leave the possibility to send small payments without asking for an ID. Like payments up to 150-200€ depending on your local law you have to follow.
For example, in NL its 1000€ allowed by law as single payment.

We would do that if we could. But we can not. Good news is that if you have nothing to hide, then there is no problem to complete KYC and anyway we are releasing new features during upcoming months that you will like I believe.

PiixPay recovers from DDoS attack.


Crypto to fiat payments platform piixpay.com has been operating since 2014, this was the first time when DDoS attack succeeded to halt our webpage front-end. “As our system is based on micro services and modular, we had no issues with our backend systems” says Raivo Malter, CTO of Payster Group Ltd. He continues, “We were actually waiting for this to happen and were prepared. It was only a matter of time when someone tries to attack service like ours. It did cause short-term problems also to our front end hosting partner, Estonian largest web hosting company”.

Attack took place on 25th of September at 1:15pm local time. Raivo continues that “It was large enough to make fighting it infeasible, so we took measures to neuter it. We learned from the incident and are happy it did occur. As I learned 18 years ago in US Military IT and communication training: you need to have public-facing honeypots to know what your adversaries are planning.”

All the services have been now recovered, attack had impact for about 3 hours, none of the client accounts have been compromised. PiixPay is continuing to invest in to digital security and has gained now more experience how to deal with such cases to provide better and more secure services.

Germany has some very crypto friendly banks that allow remote opening of business accounts. Maybe these would be a good choise.
