Bitcoin struggles for legitimacy

http://nypost.com/2015/05/31/bitcoin-struggles-for-legitimacy/

Can bitcoin go straight?

The crypto-currency advertises itself as an easy way to do financial transactions online.

But it’s mostly been synonymous with crime.

On Friday afternoon, Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht was sentenced to life in prison. Silk Road was a bitcoin-based online bazaar for drugs, weapons and other illicit wares.

Bitcoin is already legitimate. Just because people use it for so called illegitimate means doesn't mean anything. People use fiat money for this type of stuff and in far bigger volume. If anything, its use on the darknet proves its legitimacy as a currency because as with any currency you should be able to buy absolutely anything you like with it.

I can't believe NY posted it. :-\ Fiat would have been fake when Charles Ponzi created a big ponzi and many people smuggled.

This is NY Post, not NY Times.
I am not sure about the reputation about NY Post, but I haven't come across too many articles from it.

FUD Spreaders .... Do not break your head about that.  ;)

Everytime something negative happens, the anti-bitcoin community jump on the opportunity to spread this kind of FUD. You have to remember one thing... Good news do not sell News papers... It's the bad news that attract more attention.

The odds are stacked against us, with all the shills backing the media and the criminals within our community selling us out to these sharks.

Just take the knocks and proof them wrong.  ;) {There are more people using Bitcoin for legal things than people using it for criminal intent}  :P

They just cherry pick the bad apples, to make us all look bad.

They like to put Bitcoin in a bad day light, you must know by now how the media is. Just ignore these clowns. Bitcoin isn't any worse than fiat currency regarding being used for criminal activities.
