I'm currently on 0.91.1 as this is the latest version to work with my offline copy. I more than happy with the security I have and fear changing a setup that is working perfectly for me. When it comes to increased block sizes (if it ever happens) I'm obviously going to have to update Core to something newer, but Armory 0.91.1 doesn't like anything above Core 0.9.3. So, the question is twofold really. Can I safely use Armory 0.91 with Core 0.10+ despite warnings. and Will Armory need to be updated anyway if block size changes therefore making my first question irrelevant? Thanks! Title: Re: Any danger in using newer Bitcoin core with old Armory Post by: doug_armory on May 31, 2015, 08:52:24 PM 0.91.1 is incompatible with the "headers first" changes in 0.10, so upgrading to 0.10 with your current setup isn't possible. In addition, a soft fork (BIP 66) is in the process of rolling out and will probably become active in the next 2-3 months. Your only hope is to upgrade to BC Core 0.9.5 (https://bitcoin.org/bin/bitcoin-core-0.9.5/), which should work with your setup and which will support the BIP 66 soft fork. (By the way, 0.9.4 only has a fix for an OpenSSL issue, albeit an important fix related to BIP 66.) If there are further soft/hard forks, chances are you'll have to upgrade both your online and offline version of Armory. That will depend on if there are any more BC Core 0.9 releases. Until then, you should be able to continue using your current setup.
