Title: "New R box" from Rock miner.
Post by: spazzdla on June 03, 2015, 03:20:27 PM
I know the unit has been out for some time.  I am suprised this unit hasn't been bought a lot more.  It is PERFECT for the hobby miner.  Small enough power draw that if you have a decent powersupply in your computer all you need is the miner..

I am running mine from my comp power supply and using the comp as a controller...  It is only the cost of the miner.  While it probably won't make you any cash as mining has become a very small profit move it is great to mine as a hobby and very cost and *EDIT* low power draw, only 110 watts not very noticable on your bill.

Anyone else have the "new r-box" using their comp power supply to power it and comp to control it?

I am tempted to buy another one as back up lol.

I was handed a bunch of these busted and I fixed most of 'em but they're just sitting on the shelf. They're decent little units, and you're right it's an excellent size/volume/power-draw for hobby desk miners.

You shouldn't call them efficient, but they are a fun hobby miner.

You're right, I should say low power draw.  Correcting.
