Title: We need a wiki!
Post by: Xunie on April 14, 2010, 03:28:20 AM
As the title says, we need, or at least could use a wiki. (in my opinion, that is)
I don't have the resources to host one myself, maybe you (Satoshi) can host one on here?!
Any how, I will defiantly do some editing myself.
So, what do you guys (and gals, if there are any) think?

Edit: I can help administer the thing!

Seconded! I'd be very interested in helping with content.

This would be very helpful.  I hope someone can host it.

Sirius delivers: http://bitcoin.org/wiki/ (http://bitcoin.org/wiki/)

I'll add a link onto the main page when we have some content.

I didn't think it wasn't gonna be MediaWiki, anyways, thanks!

Welcome Xunie ! Good suggestion.

Great job ! sirius-m

Along with the usual essential wiki guides... Might I suggest one of the first additions is an API 'how to'  8)

I'm eager to fully open my LR Exchange Service and I'm busy having 'fun' with http://www.libertyreserve.com/EN/help/programmatic-access/api/

Thanks.

I might start a page on that FX.  It's not too bad with Python.  You can join the IRC channel on Freenode at #bitcoin-dev if you have a question.

May I ask why the choice in software?

Simple, lightweight, took less than a minute to install, pages saved as .txt files. Do you think MediaWiki or something else would be better?

No, the question was mainly out of curiosity. :P

Well, I prefer MediaWiki to be honest... but that's just me...

Surprised that there isn't one instated yet. This forum has been up since the Inception of bitcoin, hence should have one outlining it's progress inline with the timeline of bitcoin.
I am sure it is mentioned in the wiki for bitcoin so why not on it's own. This should be the communities contribution on this project of course.
