Title: PPS Or Proportional?
Post by: mookid on September 10, 2012, 11:32:39 PM
Hi there, i'm running GUIMINER with my ATI HD 6850 @ 222 Mhash/s, also, i'm using Deepbit as my mining pool, however i can't decide between Pay per share or the proportional paying method, can somebody explain it to me further? what is the best choice in my circumstances?, my strategy so far  is to leave my computer running at least 12 hours a day, what option should i select?

Pay Per Share pays the same amount per share over a difficulty period at %10fee Deepbits is the most expensive pps available
Proportional is a flawed payout system, on top of Deepbits 3% fee you pay a "tax" to pool hoppers

are worth looking at when choosing a pool :)

MtRED AND 50btc have fairly good PPS offerings. Proportionate always seems to work out less for slower miners.

Is it better to go with a pool that has a lot of hash rate or one that has a smaller hash rate? I've always wondered if it really even matters at all.

I always used to select PPS on Deepbit. It was always the idea payout option for me.
