Title: [2015-06-16] Chinese Mining Pools Propose Alternative 8 MB Block Size
Post by: tyz on June 16, 2015, 05:47:41 PM
Five of China's biggest mining pools — AntPool, F2Pool, BTCChina, BW Mining, and Huobi — have mutually agreed to a raise of the block size limit to 8 MB. In a statement sent to CoinTelegraph and posted today on the Bitcoin subreddit, they collectively rejected Bitcoin core developer Gavin Andresen's proposal to raise the limit from 1 MB to 20 MB, and instead presented a compromise.

So we are now held randsom by the Chinese mining pools on the development level? To my knowledge they need more than 90% to have a say, not 60%.
They are a bit biased in what they are asking for because it would benefit them.
The Core developers need to balance the needs of the miners and the needs of the Bitcoin users.
The Bitcoin Core VS Bitcoin XT is going to be a touch decision, if it comes down to that.
