Title: Insert Hyperlink option is outdated, can it be removed?
Post by: Possum577 on June 24, 2015, 04:22:52 AM
So the insert hyperlink button still appears at the top of the comment box when making a post, but if one types a url - www.yahoo.com - the website address automatically turns into a hyperlink. Seems like the button has become obsolete, should it be removed as a default option from the post menu?

Thanks.

it's still useful if you want to do this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1097854.0)

try quoting me if you're wondering how to do that

If you want to add a link with custom text then this option is useful, normally when you write a url its diplay/anchor text is same as url but using hyperlink tag you can change it.

1. You can avoid it by adding 'nobbc' tag.

www.yahoo.com

Code:
[nobbc]www.yahoo.com[/nobbc]

2. It won't be removed as that option is useful for creating hyperlinks.(see Zorrocoin's post above)

I like to see a url not a blind link, people are using it to disguise ref links and malicious sites.

Example

I'm using from 22th April some unknown cloud mining service named: Scryptsy.com (https://scryptsy.com/aff.php?aff=132)
It seems that this site has nothing with Cryptsy exchange.
I can say that for now withdraw was everyday and everything was fine.

And scores 7/7 on the Ponzimeter.
Nice hidden ref link btw.

I like to see a url not a blind link, people are using it to disguise ref links and malicious sites.
And I don't link posting full URL's, as I like to do stuff like this:

It's called 'glamour red' and it's pretty sexy.

Anyone recommend me any apps?
Well, it's really really red, lol. Anyway, here is a list of apps that are a must have for me:
- Xposed Framework (http://repo.xposed.info/module/de.robv.android.xposed.installer) (Let's you add a lot of amazing stuff, without changing your System or APK's. Rooted device required)
- Total Commander (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ghisler.android.TotalCommander&hl=en) (The best file explorer there is, available for Windows as well)
- Poweramp (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer&hl=en) (Amazing music player)
- Uninstall (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jumobile.manager.systemapp&hl=en) (It's an app to remove System apps (bloatware and what not), Root required)
- Link2SD (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&hl=en) (Allows you to move apps to your SD and has a lot of other useful options. Rooted devices only. Be sure to read this (http://www.shelaf.com/2013/06/two-easy-way-to-increase-android-phones.html) to understand how awesome it is).
- SD Maid (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.thedarken.sdm&hl=en) (Amazing cleaner app)
- AndroIRC (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androirc&hl=en) (Great app, if you are a vivid IRC user)
- Battery+ (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.smalltech.battery.free&hl=en) (A good battery information app, very good at guessing how long your phone will last)
- Titanium Backup (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&hl=en) (Good for backuping apps and their data, requires Root, bit hard to get)
- BSPlayer Free (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free&hl=en) (Very good movie player with automatic subtitle search)
- MoonReader (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flyersoft.moonreader&hl=en) (Amazing app for reading PDF's, ePUB's, etc)

Anyway, this is a useless thread as it won't be removed, ever. This will most likely turn into a post padding tread.
