im sick of bitcoin core and downloading the blockchain thing , even if i close the wallet sometimes without issues when it opens back it has to reindex which i seem to not understand till now
so i plan to switch to either multibit HD or Electrum , I would like to get your opinions on this matter and please tell us why i should use

because now multibit have seed thing , so are they basically the same ? ty

one of the differences is the ability to see individual address balances and adjust the transaction fee in electrum; multibit does not offer these features as far as i know.

Humm , I don't think I will need that because it's not very important to me all I need to know is the final balance on the whole wallet , any other features which one of them don't have and I should know about ??
also there is something on multibit HD which i didn't understand rly , there is a zip.aes file or something and not sure what to do with that , if we have the seed wat to do with AES encrypted file

Though electrum started to have a minimum fee of 0.00001 btc for every transaction. And you cant change that. Its not much but its not so that you can send free transactions anymore. I dont know why.

why would anyone ever bother to send a zero fee transaction? they takes ages to confirm, and 0.0001 isnt even that much, that two whole cents.

Same goes for Multibit (HD and not the classic one) , now you have to pay fees for the transaction and also the 1000 satoshi for the developpers of the client which I totally support because they made something good and need donations/getting paid .

i installed and worked with both Multibit and Electrum back when i was trying to choose a different wallet.

my understanding was that they are pretty much the same and offer the same thing and since i liked Electrum (features and looks) i chose that and been using it so far.

i suggest you install both on a virtual machine and try both, read their official website for more info and their features that they offer. also you can take a look at their sections on the alternative client board.

then decide for yourself which one is more suitable for you.



the reason for that if i recall correctly, was that the devs said that users are setting the fee to 0 and that causes their transactions to not get confirmation, then they complain and start sending messages to them that why did this happen.
so they force the minimum fee.

do you mean that multibit forces you to donate 1000 satoshi to devs? how they do that? can you explain this

Yeah I just installed both of them and I guess im going to choose Electrum , since it looks like Multibit HD GUI is too laggy for me , and I can't switch between the different tabs & open windows without lagging and it takes too much time  ???

i personally resent this. i don't like to be charged to use a bitcoin wallet. i mean i donated to Electrum before since i use them but it is optional and they are not forcing you so far to pay for the wallet.
this makes me wanna do more donations towards Electrum :D

You are welcome , I know it's optional and also for Multibit they have a donation button too ... But I personally don't blame developpers at all , they putted efforts on it and 1000 Satoshi is the least we can give them to reward them for their hard work .
about the article not sure , I only knew that recently when Multibit HD came out officially because I try to stay away from Beta versions so Idon't get screwed in case if there is any bugs
