And I quote " The transfers could take between 1-3 days depending on your bank. This payment feature has been rolled out in recent months in the US across Android, iOS, and, it appears most recently, desktops."

Do you see a problem with that? Who would use such a service in this day and age?

I use ChangeTip within Facebook with no problems. Just drop your direct url in there and people will ask questions. Eg. http://Kprawn.tip.me

Many of my friends got into Bitcoin this way.... They see the url, click on it, and wants to know more.  ;D

I don't see why Facebook feels the need to fight bitcoin. They could easily integrate bitcoin and make a killing. It would be good for bitcoin as well.

Not everything that Facebook and other companies do is done to fight Bitcoin. For them it's adding a much requested and popular feature which makes it easy to send certain amounts to each other.

If enough people request Facebook to accept Bitcoin for the same purpose and to buy Facebook credits, they will likely do so. But only if the demand is there.

Facebook is a global company with a good reputation. Why would they allow a volatile currency in it's infancy?
Compared to the traditional Fiat banking sector, the Bitcoin technology is still young and unstable as a payment method&currency. The % of people who adopted Bitcoin is also dwarfed by the amount of people who are using the Fiat banking system. It does not make sense for them to implement a payment system that is not widely accepted.
