hello guys i know a bit about bitcoin but not sure if it is a good idea to buy im trying to save some bitcoins on my wallet 2-3 years will sell them .

not sure if the price will go up or not so im askin the expert what do you think. i got about 700 dollars going to buy 2 bitcoin or 3.

but i will start will low investment how much shall i get  for my 75 sterling pounds  i checed on preev it shows 0.4066  sould i get that price
people sometimes asking me 1:1 what does that sign mean im confuse.
where can i exchange my paypal fund to bitcoin

i believe that its a really good time to buy bitcoins as the halving of bitcoin reward will happen in the near future what means that bitcoin price will most probably rise a lot though thats just my guess

also you can exchange your bitcoins on such exchanges as bit-x

the best way is to check the rateis to check btc-e exchange where you can also exchange money to bitcoins and do some maths, for example now the price there is 278 usd per btc so for 100 dollars you would get 1*100/278=0.36 bitcoins

already signed on btce-e  can i buy bitcoins using paypal payment i dont belive that

Nobody knows what will happen to the price.

Most people here expect the price to rise because they believe in the technology and they think the price will follow, or because they have invested money and they hope to make a profit.

Many people will give specific reasons why the price will rise (or fall), or they will give specific predictions of the price. Don't believe them. They truth is that they really don't have a clue what is going to happen. When the price was over $1000, people expected it to continue rising, and look at the price now.

TL;DR: Don't ask strangers on the internet how to invest your money.

anyone wise will be loath to hand out financial advice especially with regards to speculation... but i will throw caution to the wind and say yes. i think, if you have any "spare" money... disposable income, that is... you should for sure invest it in btc... its what i do.

but remember ???, DON'T INVEST MORE THAN YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE. no one knows (not even Satoshi) where this "experiment" will end up.

i believe that the price will soon go up. besides it has been going up for some time now after the $170 low it has been upward ever since

I'll agree with people above, I think this is a great time to buy bitcoins, the price of Bitcoin is really very low and as bitcoin gain more popularity and as more people around the world decide to take control of their funds the value of it is going to be very high. I believe it to be the safest investment for now and I have been collecting as much as I can.

But that been said, don't invest the money you can't afford to lose, just invest smartly like I buy a little out of my salary every month and hopefully it will bring a good return in future.

Nobody can tell you what is going to happen in the future so you should make your own mind up. Personally I think bitcoins are a worthy investment and definitely worth the risk, but with any investment nothing is guaranteed so only invest what you can afford to lose. I don't think it will hurt to buy a coin or two nor should it break the bank but that's up to you.

I don't know if you've already bought your BTC since your last post but if you haven't you might want to wait a bit or at least do some research. I haven't checked support on the exchanges but there definitely seems to be a downtrend atm.
Have a look at Virwox.com if you wanna buy with PayPal, I've used them many times and they're safe.

EDIT - The price on Preev is an average and can be quite different from the price on the exchange you're using. Also I should mention that while Virwox is safe and fast, they do have some horrible fees.

true  no body know go for it or risk it even next 2-6 months bitcoinrate goes high it could go down at anytime.

i got money on my pocket  and spending it after 2-3 days good to have 1-2 bitcoins so there wont be a big risk.

Everybody want to know is today is right time for buying bitcoin ? Unfortunately, nobody know.
But some people may speculate about bitcoin price that today is the right time to buy and hold it for next two - three years. It's also called investation on bitcoin

for such long-term perspective as 2-3 years, doesn't matter so much, if you will buy today at 280 or tomorrow at 281 or 278.

for such small amount, doesn't make much sense to create exchange acc. try localbitcoins and once you will buy them, store them on paper wallets.

i have boughten btc when it was at 240 now the price is up to 280 and i am happy to see my investment grow in value 2 - 3 years from now the price may be different or the same.. the predictions i have seen are wrong alot of the time

Well I think that this is the best time to buy in the last year and a half. Yes, we can always go down, but chances are now much smaller for that. Everything is pointing that we will be going up. So yes, it's a good time to get in.

To buy: You are looking for a smaller amount. Try localbitcoins, this might be your best bet. Don't buy with PayPal, you will find a seller very hard and they will rip you off, for paying with PayPal you will have to pay 15% higher fees. Withdraw the money to your bank account and pay via wire transfer.

if you really want to risk some money for Bitcoins then you should buy now, or at least before the next halving in July 2016.

I think the price of bitcoin will be rise after 2 to 3 years.

what will happen in two 3 years? there is nothing aside from random good news that may happen, but no one know, instead the halving is there around the corner, and it will bring fresh air for sure

granted im just a fish but i dont see any scenario where bitcoin goes down in the next 2-3 years.  the sellers are being exhausted in the 200-300 range, the halving next year will rekt the bears

I would have to also agree with others that buying in now would be a good thing to do.  BTC has made it a far way since opening in 2012.  Being that it is still staying steady, I personally think it will keep going up over time.  I am betting on it with about 10k invested, but you never know.  Do your research and make your own decision, never do what another person wants you to do.  Just to give you an idea to think about, when BTC is done mining its maximum and the fees for mining will cover the block rewards, BTC will be in demand and should go up from there.

Nope, I should say the price will go down, on that day... People would be buying a lot of stuff from merchants who accepts Bitcoin via payment processors. Most of these

companies will have these Bitcoins converted to fiat, and you would see a surplus supply of Bitcoins on these exchanges. The surplus supply would in theory push the price

down, if we have the same demand. On the other hand... if merchants ran "Bitcoin only" discounts, more people would buy Bitcoins to get these discounts and thus increasing the

demand and also increase the price. Merchants can help Bitcoin a lot, if they offer some discounts only for Bitcoin users.  ::)

Nobody can tell you with 100% guarantee if the price will go up or down in the next 2-3 years.  Only risk what you can afford to lose.   The block halving coming up in 8 months should cause a lot of media attention which may increase the price though :)

I have some faith in bitcoin as it is not inflationary coin. There is limited supply of it. I think it is better than fiat. It will go up in value.

If that $700 is something for you to speculate with, then I say do it.  In other words if you can afford to lose it, do it.  If you don't have enough cash on hand to survive losing your job or some other catastrophe, then I would suggest not buying bitcoin.  I'm sure you've seen how volatile bitcoin can be, and you could lose your shirt.  There's no way anyone here can tell you what the price is going to be at any given point in the future, not even the "experts".  Good luck to you.

I use xe.com to check currency exchange rates. They now include Bitcoin (code - XBT ), so that must say something about it's viabilty.

Ask ten people and you will probably get 10 different answers. My guess is, the price of Bitcoin will increase by 1-2 times within the horizon of 2-3 years. But there will be a couple of heavy pumps and dumps. When you buy and store them on a secured location like paper wallets and you will take a second look in 2-3 years then you will very likely have a good gain ;)

When the price rise, you need to hold you coin tight and do not sell. When the price drop, you should not worry too much.

Let us know if you bought more bitcoin until now, because the price cchanged very much from August.
Now with 700 we can buy max 1.55BTC which is around 50% less, buying bitcoin is good for now as we expect an increase at the end of 2016

I don't know if you have sold or not your bitcoin. But seeing all your story and your post a few months after you for sure are hitting yourself if you have sold your bitcoins. The price could reach $1000 later this year, so $700 cannot buy you a full bitcoin. The halving can raise the price a lot.

Its a very good idea to buy bitcoin at this rate, because you won't get bitcoin in this price later. The price is expected to increase over the coming years. Even now soon the value will get increased and will grow constantly

If you want to buy for the long term, then it is OK to buy now. If you want to trade, then it is difficult to time rightly.

Its the best time to buy bitcoin. Even for short term earning also you can buy, as most of them used to to speculate that the value is gonna get increased during the halving which is expected within few months.

i honestly think that it is a very great time to buy bitcoins right now as it can give you some decent profit in the next 2 or 3 years, at least i am buying my bitcoins right now on price dumps when it is lower than the awerage

Anything below $400 is a buy for me, given that I'm planning to hold on for the long term rather than short terms. Also, averaging the price is a good buying strategy to at least minimize the risk of you losing money.

I'd say its the worst time to buy coins, from what I've got to know from the time here on bitcointalk and bitcoin as a whole, Bitcoin randomly gets pumped up by some group of people only to be dumped heavily later. Just my 2 sats if you wanna take my advice

I think that is a good time to buy, all the people is waiting a big increasing for halving. What i don't know if near the halving or the next day of the halving, it could go down, because some traders buyed only to sell at better prices. If prices increase fast could be a good idea sell a % of the bitcoins savings.

Buying bitcoin shouldn't be a problem whenever someone plan to make a profit from buying then selling it, the only problem is when you will make the profit. Buying now at $430 isn't that bad, you have a chance to make +20$ in few weeks or way more after few months  ;)

I will do differently. I think the price in 2 to 3 years will be at least 3-5 times of present value. So I will not sell in a few months.

No indeed, you should not sell your bitcoins at all these days, also because of the halving that is coming.
Also if you long invest or wait till 2020 there will be another halving and you will make profit for sure.

Waiting till 2020 is not a good idea I guess, you can afford to wait for the next halving which we are expecting in July, and you can sell it if the price meets your expectation level.

By then the price will have a big rise. Of that I am certain. Although there is no guarantee.

it is just about the risk versus the reward.
bitcoin price is not going to go lower that $350-400 range but it is highly possible that the price goes up at least twice what it is worth right now to $800 so you are risking small for a big reward, i'd take that chance any day of the week.

it is good idea to buy before halving, and sell like 4 weeks after halving, price now is lower than it will be after halving, it will rise then, and if you'll wait fore weeks after halving you may loose money, so i think it's good idea to buy bitcoins now and keep them
