Title: Ethereum Vanity Generator
Post by: the_beast on August 12, 2015, 08:41:05 PM
Hello, for fun purpose, I made an Ethereum address vanity generator.
I think it's the first one  ;)

Enjoy at https://github.com/antonio-fr/Vanityreum

This is now very slow, just try with 3 characters. I'm sure many of you would improve that. Also it needs further validations.

New version:
- Private key exported in file (to import in geth)
- Multithread, scalability automatic for optimum performances

Please read README for further details.

PS: Not the first one, an other guy did one 5 days earlier in JS  ;D

Vanity?  So you mean Ethereum "investors" are full of vanity?

Vainglory
Main article: Vanity
Conversion of the Magdalene' or 'Allegory of Modesty and Vanity by Bernardino Luini, c. 1520

Vainglory (Latin, vanagloria) is unjustified boasting. Pope Gregory viewed it as a form of pride, so he folded vainglory into pride for his listing of sins.

Actually, I usually don't trust such apps because they could contain viruses or loggers. But you put it open source and the code looks clean to me so far ;) Good job!
