Title: I found the perfect service to make partial RSS feeds into FULL!
Post by: Fking on October 03, 2012, 03:08:40 PM
Finally I found really good service to make any partial RSS feed into full.
All the rest are either down too often, have low success rate or embed ads.
This one doesn't have those problems and on top of that provides couple extras like stripping links. Free and no ads and accepts donations via bitcoin which really surprised me. I'm sure lots of you will find it really useful so had to share it, http://feedenlarger.com/

Pretty neat.  It works with CNBC, which is one of my most annoying feeds.  If it manages to stick around for a while I might convert more feeds.

I'm an avid news reader and follow 89 RSS feeds.  A lot of them provide full text, but there are a few (mostly mainstream news sites) that only give the headline or the headline plus a sentence or two.  It makes it much more annoying to read.  I added the "expanded" CNBC feed link that site produced to my Google Reader and so far it's great.

Wait, are you suggesting that part of the reason I never found RSS attractive was that I was only ever seeing a "slim / minimalist / partial" version of what I should have been getting from my experience?

I shall have to try this out. Thanks :)

LOL! I have several thousands of feeds under various categories in my googlereader, for a 631 Kb .opml. Now you know where I lose most of my time.

Oh dear god. You're insane. I decided to try out "google reader" browser-based RSS thingy the other day and only have XKCD so far.

But personally I prefer Yahoo Pipes to build them as it has some powerful options.

I tried for an hour or two, something is completely fucked. Trying to debug a Yahoo Pipe is frustration squared.

lets make a list of similar but proven and reliable services?
I'm stuck to this one, but what are you using?

I used to use NomNomNom Reader on the Touchpad which had similar functionality built into it: https://developer.palm.com/appredirect/?packageid=com.tibfib.app.nomnomnom

Unforunately, NomNomNom would lose my Google account authentication regularly and had to be reset, so I got annoyed with it and gave up.  It was also only on the Touchpad.

Nice...put a copy of that up on my webserver and had it convert a feed that previously was just pulling article titles.
