If this technology was based on any kind of sound science, the entire world would be conducting QC experiments as I write. I don't know much bout chip engineering but I studied quantum mechanics when I was sprogging up. I think you can be resting assured that nuclear fusion reactors will be commonplace before we say a mass produced quantum computer and fusion proponents say we are at least 50 years away from that. The D-wave chip sounds like to me that it is a classical machine with no quantum entanglement, just look it is one inch square and only has 512 gates. A simile would be water has a very quick knack at solving optimisation problems whenever it runs down a valley, nothing quantum about that, but wtf do I know.
