Here are the rules and details:

1. It's free to enter

2. Format (please leave a post following this format to enroll in the competition)

3. You can use any coin accepted by directbet.eu (BTC, LTC, DASH or DOGE). But you have to use the same coin / address during the ENTIRE competition.

4. You can enter with any bankroll amount.

5. A late registration during the first week of the competition will be allowed.

6. If you bust your bank during the first week and the next 4 days you are allowed ONE re-entry with the same bankroll you started with (or a smaller one), but your progress will not be reseted. Meaning that you will be re-entering the competition with negative ROI% (-50% ROI assuming you enter with the same amount)



1. All bets must be made in directbet.eu (as they are your sponsor)

2. You should always post your bets in the competition thread after you placed your bet in directbet.eu. To do so you can just post the link of your bet from directbet.eu (you can get them at the "bet status" tab).
We will be tracking all your bets with the help of directbet.eu, so do not try to cheat or you will be disqualified.

3. When making bets, all payots must be set to the same coin address provided in the registration for this competition. Bets not made this way will not count for the competition.

4. For the purpose of this competition the max bet stake is capped 5% of your current bankroll. You can pass that limit, but the winnings/losses for the purpose of this competition will be rounded down as if they were made with a bet stake of 5% of current bank.

By current bank we refer to the bank that is reflecting your winnings/losses and bets placed during the competition.

5. A minimum of 20 bet slips must be made during the competition to qualify for prizes.

5.1 The minimum number of bet slips required to qualify can increase if your largest winning bet is won at odds above 10.
In this case that minimum will be two times that odd.

As an example:
You largest winning bet is won @11. This way you will have to place a minimum number of 22 bets in order to qualify (11 x 2 = 22 bet slips).

6. A minimum of 20 bets must be made during the competition to qualify for prizes.

7. You can not have "duplicate" bets even if they are made at diferent odds. If you do so, we will only count the first one.
This is an example of a duplicate bet:
 Barcelona v Real Madrid - Match Odds, Barcelona @2
 Barcelona v Real Madrid - Match Odds, Barcelona @1.5
In this case we will only count the first bet made.


1. The winner will be the one with the better ROI % at the end of the competition

2. A bonus of 7% of each bet stake will be added to the leaderboard, no matter if you win or lose the bet (for the purpose of determining the winner only and not in the form of real money).

3. In the remote case of a tie, we will pay the higher prize for both winners.


1. Top 3 will be paid

First place:  0.5 BTC;
Second place: 0.3 BTC;
Third place: 0.2 BTC

2. All prizes will be paid directly to the winners addresses.


-Users with a tipster thread that have been posting tips in the forum for the past few months will have priority if they choose to enter but everyone can apply.

-These rules may suffer changes until the start of the competition. If that happens everyone will be informed.

- This competition will be monitored by me with the help of directbet.eu

- A leaderboard for the competition will be created and will be available in directbet.eu

- Duplicate accounts are not allowed in the competition. Anyone caught with a duplicate account will be disqualified.

hmm there is no need for escrow. First the entry is free so you are taking no risks, second as I said this event is being sponsored by directbet.eu. They will be paying the prizes not me.

They will soon promote the competition in their oficial forum thread. Also the leaderboard will be placed on their website.

As for the rules I will post a pratical case:
Lets say you place a bet in directbet.eu of 1 BTC @11
You will of course be paid 11 BTC if you win, but for the competition only 10 BTC will be added to your bankroll in the leaderboard, because you went above the max odds permited for this competition.

The same thing goes for the betting stake.
Lets say you have a bankroll of 1BTC meaning that 5% of that bank is 0.05 BTC.
If you bet more than 0.05 BTC you will of course be paid normaly, but for the competition purpose it's like you only placed a bet of 0.05 BTC

Hope I was clear enough. Feel free to ask anything else i you still have doubts.

The first part is invalid, since participants will be using their time which is not worth nothing. There are taking a risk.

I would say use an escrow. But if you are not willing to, at least get Directbet.eu to confirm it here.

What about people with HD wallets which have different sending and receiving addresses every transaction?

Also bettors with higher bankrolls will have a clear advantage because single bets will be on par with lower stakes on the parlays for the people with smaller bankrolls.

The problem with the addresses is that we need one single address to be able to track every single bet made by that participant in order to prevent cheating (like ommiting losing bets etc).

As for the different bankrolls there will be no advantage. You will state the bankroll you will use for the competition, and all your winnings and losses and bet stakes will relate to that bankroll.

The winner will be the one with higher % of profit, and not the higher flat profit, so it's equal to everyone either you have a big bank or a small one.

All wallets are compatible. You simply need to use the same payout address for all your bets so that we will be able to track your progress in the leaderboard.

how will you know if the bets are correct ? where do we need to place are betting slips,and do we post them before a game?

All bets that you place as part of this competition need to be placed for real on our website. This will allow us to track the progress of each tipster and create the leaderboard.

If you want to participate but you don't want to risk much - that's not a problem. You can state that your bankroll is 10,000 DOGE for example and play with them. That's equivalent to 0.005 BTC and that's all you have to risk !

There is no advantage for playing with a bigger stack. That's because the winner is the one with the highest percentage of profit and not the actual amount.

For example, you start the competition with 1 BTC and ends it with 2 BTC. You made a profit of 100%.

Someone else starts the competition with 100 BTC and ends with 150 BTC. He made a profit of 50%. You still win because your ROI (return on investment) is higher.

We specifically created the competition rules in a way that provides a playing level field for everyone.

It is a betting competition thread, not a bitcoin shop or sell offer. You need to bet your coins, and I don't know if skrill is counting as valid coin accepted in this competition.

So in this case no needed minimum bet to able joined this competition. This is great and fair competition

Because here in point 5 it is said 'from' not 'to' I guess you meant the funding address i.e. the address you send from? So to confirm you only need the same address for withdrawals to track people?

If you we are in the first weak of the competition you can re-entry with the same bankroll or less, but your progress will not reset so you can't take advantage of this.

Meaning, you enter with a bankroll of 1 BTC and you lose it all in the first week
You can enter again with the max ammount of 1 BTC, but at that time your ROI will be -50% because it's like you entered with 2 BTC total, and now only have 1 BTC, so you are in a loss.

You are correct, I have edited the rules. You just need to set the same payout address on every bet you make.

We put a lot of thought in this and I will try to explain why we have these 2 rules.
If we don't set up a max amount people can bet, everyone will just go allin at the end of the competition at big odds to try to increase their ROI %. If we let this happen we will be valuing random luck and not a consistent punter.

Here is an example:

Player A enters with 1 BTC and doubled his initial bank, thus having a 100% ROI.
Player B enters with 1 BTC and lost some bets and in the final day only has 0.5BTC of his initial bank, thus having a negative ROI% of -50%.
Player B has nothing to lose and bets the remaining 0.5 BTC @10 and wins, thus finishing the competition with 5 BTC that equals a ROI% of 400%.

He will win the competition because he won that single bet, and that is not fair.

With the 5% rule, he would only be able to bet 0.05 BTC and even if he won @10 he would finish the competition with 0.95 BTC, and still remains with a negative ROI% of -5%.

Also the number was not random picked, 5% of a bankroll is a normal value used for bankroll management, and we like to promote that.

As for the maxed odds we believe that is already a quite high value, so you can use parlays. If we increased them to much, again we would be risking that a single bet would have to much weight at the end of the competition


I believe that was already explained by DirectBet, there is no problem in allowing different budgets because the winner will be chosed based on %ROI and not by the flat value of his bank in the final day of the competition


Yes you should post them on the competition thread. But that is just a measure for transparency, because since you will always use the same coin address for your payouts we will know every bet you made and use that to update the leaderboard.

A note about the Bankroll for the competition.
You don't have to fund that address with the amount you state here. That value will be used to calculate the max bet stake (those 5%), and your ROI % will also be based on that value.

But lets say you feel confortable in making bets of 0.05 BTC, you don't need to have 1 BTC in that address, so you can say that your bankroll is 1 BTC and you will be allowed to place bets of a max stake of 0.05 BTC. But 1 BTC will be the value that we will use to calculate your ROI %

Yes you are totaly correct. I thought about changing the name, but many users were already talking about the "tipster competition" and I choosed not to correct that mistake. This is in fact more of a bettors competition, because you have to place real bets, but since you will also post your bets before the event I'm sure many users will follow them.

Well, we thought it would be best to have a lower participant limit initially, as this is the first time we're organizing this competition - but, if everything goes well, future events should have a much higher participant limit, and hopefully, even better prizes. :)

In relation to your first question, I assume you're asking if there is a minimum number of bets you have to place? If so, yes, you must place at least 20 bets during the competition in order to qualify for prizes, as you can see in the OP, Betting Rule 7.

It's based on ROI. It doesn't matter what you start with because the max unit size is 5%

In relation to the bankroll, there is no minimum amount requirement - you can use any amount you feel comfortable with.

In my doge address there are not 10k coins, but I have more on other addresses. Do I need to have 10k on that address at the beginning of the tournament?

Yes that is correct. You need to make at least 20 bets during the competition to be eligible for prizes, but there is no max limit on bets (and they can also be live bets or parlays). In fact we offer a small bonus (only to the leaderboard and not real money) for every bet you place either it results in a win or a loss (see point 2 on "Determining the Winner" section in the opening post).

Please remember that you must be able to place at least 20 bets during the competition, but the funds to place the bets can come from any address. The only rule about the address is that you must always use the same address for the bet payouts

Actually, we might start the competition sooner, if we get to 20 participants before September, and assuming those who registered before that update to the rules agree.

In relation to the prizes, you have to take into consideration that there is no minimum amount you have to risk in order to enter and potentially win the competition. Further, we tried to set everything up in a way that interferes as little as possible with what a punter would normally be doing, so this is a nice extra, on top of your regular winning bets. Important:

First - There has been a small change to the 5% rule. You are no longer obliged to place only 5% of your competition bankroll, BUT everytime you pass that limit, your bet ammount will still be rounded down to 5% of your current bankroll. (this will also apply to the max odd @10)

This will make the betting process easier for you, as you can place your bets the way you normaly do, and the competition will still remain fair and skill based, as the luck factor is greatly decreased this way.

Second - The 20 participants limit has changed, and the competition is now in the late-registration process, and it will remain that way until August 30.

Yes, the competition starts this Sunday (which, depending on your time zone, is already tomorrow).

The 5% rule refers to the Betting Rule 6 from the OP, although the recent changes also affect Betting Rule 5. The main purpose of these rules is to decrease the impact luck can have in the competition.

As such, according to Rule 6, when you place a bet that exceeds 5% of your current bankroll, for the purpose of the competition, we will register the bet as if it had been made with the maximum of 5% of your current bankroll, and your winnings will be adjusted accordingly. So, for example, if your current bankroll is 0.1 BTC, and you place and win a bet of 0.01 BTC (10% of your bankroll) at odds of 2, instead of the leaderboard registering you as having won those 0.02 BTC from the bet, it will show you as having won only 0.01 BTC (as if you had made a bet with only 5% of your bankroll).

Similarly, Betting Rule 5 states that the maximum odd a bet can have for the purpose of the competition is 10 - anything higher, say 10.5, will be rounded down to 10, and your winnings calculated as if the bet had been placed at those odds.

I hope that helps; but feel free to share any doubts that still remain.

Ideally, participants would always make a post in the competition thread with the bet ID (following the format in the OP) as soon as possible, after the bet was placed in the site - not only in the interest of transparency, but also to keep the competition interesting for those following it (and also, to allow them to follow the tips).

We tought about a self moderated thread, for the reasons you pointed out, but it is not the best option if we think about transparecy. So it will be a normal thread. The leaderboard will be on directbet.eu website, so that thread will be for the bet slips, for doubts regarding the competition, for warnings issues if we think something is wrong etc.

Like I said before, it is very important that you post all the bets you can, remember it is just a copy/paste of the link from directbet.eu. You need to be online to place the bet, so its just another 1-2 minutes of your time. That will greatly enhance the competition, not only in a transparecy way, but also for all the users that want to follow your bets.

There is no limit on the number of daily bets. You can do as many as you want. The only limit regarding bets, as stated in the rules, is to place a minimum of 20 bets to qualify for prizes.

We actually encourage a large number of bets, and re reward them, as you can see in rule number 2 in the "Determening the winner" section.

This is an example of a duplicate bet:

In this case we will only count the first bet made.

Yes sure. You can bet on multiple markets on the same game. You can even bet on the same market, a long as it is not on the same outcome.

Can we not post all the upcoming slips because I just had a quick look and someone already has 35 slips  :o I mean your other thread will get spammed to death. Yes of course you can do that.
The ideal for everyone would be exactly that. Make a post and then edited the same post addin new picks, and when it got to big, they could just make another one and continue with that.

Like I said the main point with the posts is for transparancy. So just keep them there anyway you want. Your idea is fine, a post everyday like you suggested, but don't worry about "spamming" the thread. Post your bets anyway you like, but keep posting them, so they are visible in the main thread.

Isn't there a risk of duplicate accounts creating multiple accounts and participating in the contest ?

I don't think directbwt would mind alt account but it depends on if they have a strategy to weed out ALTs...

We are doing what we can to prevent that, but of course there is no bullet proof system. We had a minimum rank required to join in this late registration week, but that would also prevent honest players to be able to join, so we decided to remove it. Besides there could already be users with duplicate accounts in the forum so that would not completely solve it, and was preventing real users to join.

Very important update:

First: A new note has been added to the rules:
Duplicate accounts are not allowed in the competition. Anyone caught with a duplicate account will be disqualified.
This was obvious, but we decided to put it there to make it clear.

Second: We decided to change the maximum odd restriction.
You can now read in rule 5.1 in the Betting Rules section:

5.1 The minimum number of bet slips required to qualify can increase if your largest winning bet is won at odds above 10.
In this case that minimum will be two times that odd.

As an example:
You largest winning bet is won @11. This way you will have to place a minimum number of 22 bets in order to qualify (11 x 2 = 22 bet slips).

This does not reduce the previous minimum of 20 bets, this can only increase that minimum.
For example, if your highest winning bet is <=10 the minimum is still 20, but if your highest winning bet is @11, you will have to place a minimum of 22 bet slips in order to qualify for prizes (@11 x 2 = 22 minimum bets).

This way players have a better chance of recovering a negative % ROI, but the luck factor will still be reduced since they have to place more bets because of that.

Good rules, I see some people betting with odds more than 10 and only depends on their luck. Good strategy but I think it is not fair because if you win 1 10 odds then you get 45 % ROI already so thats not really fair  if you win some slip and stop at high ROI

Well players already have to place a significant amount of bet slips to reduce the luck factor. Besides your best chance to win at those odds is to make a parlay, and you require some skill along with some luck to make that happen. We try to make this competition fair and based on skill, but we can't ignore that luck is still part of sports betting so we can't just make very rigid restrictions, and prevent players from betting the way they usually do.

Not really skill I think, bet on some sure win team so your chance to win will be high. Make a parlay of only good team and the parlay will have more chance to win but with this rules they can not only depends on luck by betting this parlay but also skill, so good rules

Its almost impossible to detect duplicate accounts.



I would say that strategy of a minimum level might have worked. But again , its very much possible duplicate accounts be betting in a way so one of them wins big.

Hi I made my first bet.. but I forgot to change the "Bitcoin address where you'd like to receive your winnings" to the registered addy... so is the bet still counted? and can I transfer the funds winning funds to the registered address incase I win?

I'm afraid that bet will not count for the competition. Bets are not added manually to the leaderboard, they are added automatically and we need the payout address to be the same one you used when you registered.
If you really want that bet to count for the competition I'm afraid you will have to place it again with the correct address.

You can transfer any funds in and out of the competition address, as we do not control that. It's really up to you, but there is nothing we can do about your bet.

The coins was sent from the registered address.. just the winnings would be given out to another addy..! Its fine Ill just put the cash back into my registered addy once I win. n change the addy on the winnings section on directbet.

Yes I understand, the problem is that you did exactly the opposit. You can send the coins from any address (many wallets only work that way actually), but you must always set your payout addres to the one resgistered in the competition (that's how we identify you and your bets on the competition).

And you don't have to put the cash back into your registered address. You can do it if you want but we do not control the amount of coins you have on your payout address, we just need that everytime you place a bet, you set your payout address to the one registered on the competition!
