Title: [WTS] Silver Micro-Bullion from c0ffer
Post by: c0ffer on October 05, 2012, 10:37:53 PM
c0ffer is pleased to announce the latest unique offering for Bitcoin consumers seeking to convert their digital wealth into tangible wealth.

Now available from c0ffer: Micro-bullion bars

Micro-bullion (sub ounce) bars of precious metals can be more easily traded in barter than larger quantities such as ounces. Although micro-bullion comes at a premium above the spot price of the metal, it is the convenience that makes their ownership worthwhile. As a long term holding, micro-bullion is even more appealing since smaller values offer the largest spread for investors.

Trading in ounces or larger quantities of precious metals does not provide the divisibility of value that micro-bullion allows. It is easier to trade tiny amounts of precious metals than it is to try and cut up a larger piece or slice off a particular weight.

Micro-bullion bars from c0ffer make owning precious metals possible for very small amounts of Bitcoin. All micro-bullion is .999 purity and is marked clearly for easy identification. 1 gram bars and gold will be available soon. Silver is available in 1 grain and 5 grain bars now.

5 grain silver at .133 each, works out to be about 30BTC per ounce.  wow

You should consider doing this with your grain sizes: http://shiresilver.com/how_make_your_own

I'm sure the tiny bars are too small to be easily handled, especially for older folks or people with disabilities. Putting them in a standard sized package that facilitates easy handling adds value.

IMHO though, we should be trying to move away from the retarded ounce/grain system and just use grams like decent civilized folks  ;D

There is definitely a premium on these bars, but they are really cool since they are so tiny. I understand the point of size, I keep my personal stash in gem jars and ship them individually in little ziplock baggies (similar to the ones I use for gems).

Generally the premium on metals goes up as the size of the unit goes down. I will have some more reasonably priced micro-bullion options available very soon.

@ShireSilver - I really like your product btw

I just use pre-64 US 90% dimes. They are small enough and can be had for melt value.
