I have been browsing on the internet about martial arts specializing in weapons like knife and other bladed weapon.(Kali Esckrima or other martial art using bladed weapon) but i can always set that there`s always a debate about it like. why would they learn martial arts if they can shoot from a distance(Gun or any Projectile weapon). What do you think?

Pole might be the most usefull

For what use? I would want a knife to cut up an apple. When I studied martial arts I like the wooden staff. But if I were in a fight for my life... Well, a gun of course.

This is an easy question.

You take the knife, and go through the field of enemies slaying them left and right.

Just don't try it with a knife against those with guns AND BULLETS.

It depends for what do you want to use but most of the time:
Use your hands, they will never leave you. You can forget other things that you mentioned but your hands will never.

You need agility,strength and power to use weapons. Martial arts gives you all that

If you want to draw unwanted attention to yourself, use a gun. If you don't, use anything else.

there's nothing stopping me from carrying both at the same time.

though if I have to choose one I'd pick gun as long as there's plenty of ammo.

I cannot really imagine wanting to kill someone, but if emotions were strong enough to make me wish to do so, I expect that I'd want to use my bare hands.  Like that guy who caught some degenerate molesting his 5-year-old.

In most of the world a gun is a luxury most people don't have. Their only options is "die"

They have another option. Learn to make a gun.  :)

Anyone can pick up and fire a gun, lets be honest, in a lot of cases it's purely situational whether you'll have one or not in this day and age the majority of the time if you're attacked you won't have a weapon at all and you'll either be surrounded or up against someone a lot tougher than you. It's takes proper skill though to fight hand to hand or with knives so if you run out of ammo you'd be fucked if all you did was learn how to shoot. As for knives sure, but make sure you don't pick a style that focuses entirely on one type of knife and then leaves you feeling useless if you end up only having a kitchen knife to defend yourself with if you get my drift, if I can finally start living in Japan I'm thinking of maybe looking at knife fighting styles but that's all in the future for me.

Truth. But a lot of peaceful people in the world haven't had to experience violence, and will never do knife or hand-to-hand until it is too late. But having a gun is easy, and an emergency just might prompt them to act when necessary. Hand-to-had, or knife fighting, is something they simply would not do because of their peacefulness.

I don't think I can handle a knife or a gun.

This weapon absolutely needs to be made. Also, attach a bayonet it for even more knives!

People who learn martial arts don't learn it just for self defense, it is, as the name suggests, an art.

A gun would be best for a life or death situation, but if you're trigger happy......

How many seconds of loaded gun possession by a person need to elapse without their guilt, before that person can no longer legitimately be called "trigger happy"?

Its really a concept that fails over and over throughout history that we all just need to join hands and sing.
Our natural tendencies is to tribe up and find differences in one another. It happens at work,in families any space you engage strangers for a period of time and have to work together.
The concept of a non violent world is really a Western dream,brought up from living in a peaceful time compared to say anywhere in the middle east or parts of Africa.
Every one has a button,the question is how far are you going to be pushed before you engage it. Sometimes violence is upon you before you can even think about it.

Maybe you think that, but what if you have an angry assailant chasing you?

in CSGO knife for close range and gun for long range..
but in real life maybe i will choose gun  ::)

When smurfing in lower ranks, you don't even need a gun.

This actually was nicely covered in a Korean movie I forgot the title: a guy was a superpro with knives, he can do with them everythig: throw in a target from big distance with great success, he killed a tiger with just a small knife after the animal attacted him, he literally could do all sorts of things with a knife ... Then one day a bad guy with a gun appeared and just shot the knife master, shot him dead. Thats all.

Well that's depressing.
