you are right mate, web forum like bitcointalk.org is the right place where everything is open information, here who ever can come and get knowledge about bitcoins, whatsup will only give limit to some users. it is helpfull for local chatings and but mostly it will get scammed and then details will be get thefted.

I cannot use this feature. And in the main page, its shows that bleep for all platforms. But there is only 4 platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, MAC). You'd forgotted about the Symbian platform. But whats app provides for symbian too. So whats app group might be a better one IMO.

Symbian Platform ? are you still using the nokia 1100 or what ,dude that was the oldest of NOKIA's software and all the recent models support windows and android is the mostly used one ..IOS is for apple .

Why did you bother the very old model (nokia 1100)? I'm using nokia E5-00 (this too an old model) having S60. And my mobile doesn't supports other platform apps...

Yea probably the older models prior to LUMIA were all on Symbian I guess..
but still buddy anonymity has to be cared and WhatsApp is hit..

All Technologies have positive and negative features, its upto us how to use it and securely with out giving out more information. Even on-line forum also do so much of scams.

Why a whatsapp group ? There are variety of options available  for a group chat rather then adding through whatsapp .We all want anonymity on the web and of course get away from useless forwards.A group will be a nice away for like minded people but not phone number,we can make a channel on IRC node that would keep us all together and safe.

We can chat about bitcoins anonymously here & can get information about bitcoins then why to join a group chat on whatsapp.

I dont understand why people want to stay anonymous when it comesv to using bitcoin?Bitcoin is neither illegal nor ethical, why should we conceal our identity?Anyway it is a good idea to have whatsapp group because we get notification for messages while it is not possible on forum

Privacy is not always for hiding a crime. A phone can 1. locate your position accurately 2. record your voice even if it is switched off, and thus a company or anyone in power can control you!
Think about whistleblowers and minorities. If you are, in any way, against a majority of power, like 1.a whistleblower 2.victim of police 3.any kind of minority, be it cultural (religious, caste, food-habit), social (lesbian, gay tg), behavioral (cannabis user, bitcoin user, nudist etc) you will be discriminated against in India. These maybe be illegal but only because a democracy operates on majority views; doesn't mean it is unethical.

Personal: There may be numerous other reasons why you would want to maintain privacy like for example if your wife got an abortion, a business deal etc.
My friend who works at Ericsson can track the exact position of my airtel sim! He makes various kinds of pranks amongst friends occasionally but what if someone holds him at gunpoint?
Not to mention it is disturbing (I never pick up calls from unknown numbers on my private number) & do not use any social network like watsapp, facebook etc.


The best solution in this scenario is IRC imo which is a decentralized protocol & people can join in from their phones or anonymously from the web etc.

You seem to be one of those racist and majority-takes-all people, the thing is, a democracy respects the views of all the minorities and all people who live in India, then if you can prove this, it'll be proven that India is a non-democratic majority-takes-all type-of country which endorses a specific religion not being secularist (hardcoded in our constitution) and you, yourself are promoting that.

As long as you know how to take control of your phone and are tech-savvy enough to understand how a mobile phone works, you can control it.
The right to control your phone and take care of what and where it records is yours not the company's, a company still does it, that exact company should be known as a eavesdropper/stalker. (Again, google it)


The right to keep anonymous is crucial, because someone can freely express his PERSONAL views without INTERFERENCE which is a human right.
You know that India has a lot of problems and so, if someone freely opposes something (right to do so), he may get death threats so keeping anonymous should be legal (yes, SHOULD BE is not necessarily IS legal). I keep anonymous for the same reason and I don't want anybody have any effect on what I might or should say.

If all people join that group there will be an craziness of messages. Don't think you will have any good story when people spam the group the whole day.

Yes we cant certainly talk same things again and again but if we are a part of any such group,we can get help whenever we want.I have met some good and genuine btc buyers on this group and have sold them when I wanted to liquidate my bitcoin quickly

Could you share few thing about the groups and its purpose. Like is it about trading, discussions if any etc? This will help people to know if they are looking for the same thing will make them join else they will stay away.

i am unable to describe you everything. just want to say simply that i didn't know that someone added me.i was already in more than 2-3 Whatsapp group of bitcoins.so i told "neither he added me nor replied."

I Think we can learn more about bitcoin here than on any spammy whatsapp group.Sorry I do not mean to discourage you but been a part of many such groups,i know that whatsapp is not the right place for any serious discussion.

irc chat has anonymity which is important to some, whereas some simply dont care about anonymity, safety. Individual choice. The webforum could be used to advertising, in same way whatsapp group could be used for these kind of purpose as well. Only difference with Wgroup, group admin will have all rights to advertise and earn money. THere are whatsapp groups which charge money just to join. This could be nice way to earn money.

Bitcoin ecosystem is not still totally synchronised and has beta bugs, cob webs too, so i dont want to public my personal number in such an ecosystem.

Dont like bitcoin ecosystem; so unreliable and unstable. No solid platform to invest.
