Title: [TGC][ANN] Relaunch Tigercoin - Official thread
Post by: TigercoinDev on September 17, 2015, 03:04:38 PM
A new Tigercoin client has been released.

Because the new client has a new difficulty algorithm, you need to run the latest version to be able to sync with the rest of the network.

So upgrade now to the most recent client, version 1.2.0.2 :

Source:
https://github.com/TigerCoinDev/Tigercoin (https://github.com/TigerCoinDev/Tigercoin)

Windows binaries:

Why this new client?
- Much more consistent block generation
- Support for the latest openssl versions (the windows binaries use 1.0.1l)
- New, recent chain checkpoints added
- Last but not least: Relaunch and support the new lead developer

Version 1.2.0.2 addnodes:
Code:

addnode=198.27.81.114
addnode=91.121.221.92
addnode=192.169.6.169

Specs
Proof of work with SHA256. The following specifications are implemented:
- Mining started at 128 coins each block
- Block reward is 32 TGC each block right now
- 45 seconds block time
- Difficulty retargets every block since the fork
- mining payout is halved every 3 months (every 172800 blocks)
- once the payout reaches 1 coin/block, it will stay there to sustain the mining
- Expected total mined coins will be 47,011,968 coins (not counting the one coin per block inflationary sustaining blocks)
- 4 confirmations for transaction
- 50 confirmations for minted blocks

- Random bonus blocks are (on average):
- 1 superblock of 512 coins every hour (1/80 chance)
- 1 superblock of 2048 coins every day (1/1920 chance)

- The default ports are 15660(Connect) and 15661(RPC).

Right, good question. Sorry for not mentioning in this post - entirely my bad!
The original dev has gone silent for a long time by now. Regardless of multiple requests to participate in the coin's future. Recently, even the original Github source was removed. This was the time I decided to take matters in my/our own hands. Luckily I still had a up-to-date copy of the source and opened a new Github repo. You can find all of this back in the original TGC launch thread I linked above, but I should have mentioned it here as well.

We are past fork time and it seems that some may have their client crashing after a while. I am looking into it. In the meantime, try to keep your client online as much as possible and make sure you use the addnodes mentioned above. If your client crashes, please let me know. Including details such as what platform you are on and any usefull log / console entries. If you don't have this issue, please feel free to share that as well. :-)

Block generation on the new chain proves to be much more reliable and consistent.

As a final note: Please understand nobody is supporting the 1.1 version anymore.

Does anybody know if the iSpace Mining Pool is on the correct fork? What about Cryptsy ?

I mined on iSpace and withdrew to Crypsty but its on a different fork. Looking at the wallet status, my deposits should of appeared about 400 blocks ago but didn't.

iSpace is on the right chain. Cryptsy seems to have ignored requests about updating their wallet. They "forwarded the request to their wallet expert" and that was the only reply I ever got.

@BitcoinNational:
what do you mean about 0 connections on a 1.2.0.0 client? With the addnodes from the OP you should have connections.
Regarding Coin Warz and Bitnodes, their clients have probably crashed due to the mentioned issue. It appears some clients have crashed shortly after the fork. Their clients probably did so too, and they haven't started them again.

The takeover was done because the original dev is gone and eventually even deleted the source from github. You can read all of this in the topic linked in the OP.

this public (auto) addnodes still offline

my 1.2.0.0 client DOES connect
(using OP addnodes)

Strictly speaking they are offline again. It looks like they have been online in the meantime. Maybe their wallet VPS can't handle the load of the more frequent blocks or something? For now, blocks can be generated quite fast sometimes. That will settle down soon enough. If they have other daemon issues I'm sure they know where to find me.

iSpace is okay?
maybe we can get/use their addnode?

Yes. And their node is in the OP addnodes list.

Sent over a large TGC deposit to Cryptsy early yesterday from iSpace, still not pending or deposited this morning. I opened a support ticket, reply from them was the TxID is not in the blockchain, that I must be on the wrong wallet/blockchain. I asked Marty at iSpace, he said they did not update and sent me the link to this forum. I have replied to Cryptsy and also sent an email to Mullick(their wallet admin) about the update/fork, guess we'll have to wait and see if they update their wallet. I wouldn't hold my breath though, they don't seem to care if/when wallets are updated or how quickly they are done. When an exchange has coins in maintenance for 9+ months, with excuse they are waiting for wallet update, and coins are being moved, mined, traded, deposited and withdrawn on other exchanges without issues, kind of makes me wonder what Cryptsy is doing.

re: "what Cryptsy is doing"

1. never deleting a coin once listed  +++YES COOL
2. shit customer support -small fail okay they are busy
3. let Rex beta test the waters of shitty PnD coins and only list them after massive volume +okay better than most
4. locking up coins FOREVER ----------------this is MTGOX shit ... big FAIL
5. oh and what is Mintsy?

i hate/love cryptseee (depends on the time of day)

my guess is that they use any excuse to turnoff a coin
then they can buy it up after all hope is lost
and relaunch it in 2016/2017
maybe not
but it starting to smell very fishy

That and more. here's an example, what I would call price fixing?
Back in Jan I purchased quite a few 1000's BitShares (PTS) on another exchange at a low buy price, then I sent them to Cryptsy where they were selling/buying for a much higher price. While waiting for the transaction to complete after a few hours, I sent them a support ticket, my PTS were not even pending. Of course I received the generic reply that they were working on the wallet. Ok, so I waited, and have been waiting over 9 months for my coins to be deposited. In the mean time, the price of PTS has dropped to .00000025 or lower on other exchanges, and on Cryptsy it's still over .00023+ and has been for these 9 months. Wallet in maintenance, no one can deposit/withdraw (unless THEY can), so they are just trading the same coins over and over again. In the mean time, my deposit is stuck out there somewhere just waiting for the wallet to come back online, at least, I hope it is and maybe they will take it out of maintenance in my lifetime :). Numerous emails to them have had no results, they reply, but with their same generic BS. Even requested my ticket be escalated to someone higher authority, never happening. I'm about over them myself, gradually selling off what I have there and sending my deposits elsewhere, should be done with them in a week or so I hope. Will only use the exchange for coins not trading elsewhere.

Ok, I give up. None of my transactions are showing in the block explorer link posted above, it is the correct one?

Title: Re: [TGC][ANN] Relaunch Tigercoin - Official thread

Yes it is the right one, but the block explorer site seems to have an issue at the moment, so is not showing new blocks since their issue started.

FYI: iSpace TigerCoin is in Maintenance and U-Mine pools (all ports) are "dead" :(

The TxId i'm looking for e9cd3f26328716ece6ea27234eb241f2989bf1daf5caf4c3f762f335de5fd536 was sent about 10:00 AM EST yesterday, must be major issues with the site then, almost 26 hours :)

I doubt Crypsty will add it to the correct chain.

People have been mining that coin like crazy with 4K difficulty and massive dumping will start on the exchange.

Cryptsy has it in maint now, after I sent them an email to let them know they needed to update it. I am "assuming" that they are updating it, but won't hold my breath, will prob take months like the other coins they have had in maint.

Like to know where they are mining at? Only two pools listed in the thread and that I can find are iSpace (in maint) and U-mine (all TGC ports are dead).

Thats not accurate. iSpace is most definitely involved in mining Tigercoin blocks at the moment.

Well, there website states "This pool is currently undergoing some maintenance, there may be some slight disruption to mining during this time" and I tried to send my 3.4 TH/s onto it, highest hash rate I seen was 1.4 TH/s, now it's only mining at 184 GH/s, but my miners say they are running at full speed :) So, i'm gonna move back to the regular pool.

If you can look at the transactions there, the confirmations are strange, some lower (older) blocks still at 119 required, some higher (newer) blocks at only 60, and it's like that on a lot of them, which is definitely strange.

Hey. Found TGC pool at http://www.tompool.org/, but I wouldn't mine there yet, he has not updated the wallet, no blocks found since late last night. I feel sorry for the user mining it at over 6 TH/s :( I sent the pool admin a message to let him know it needs to be updated.

LOL, i wish it was, i'd be rich getting $236.012 a day @ 4.1 TH/s. If you noticed the warning at the top "Warning: The blockchain is currently having issues are there may be a fork.", yes it did fork, so I guess their calculator is WAY off.. :)

FYI: iSpace TigerCoin is in Maintenance and U-Mine pools (all ports) are "dead" :(

385,301   20/09/2015 17:22:51   61 left   656   2,688   2,048   MrMinerVa   32
385,300   20/09/2015 17:22:45   60 left   656   4,224   4,096   MrMinerVa   32
385,299   20/09/2015 17:22:40   119 left   656   703   0   maztakillars   32
385,298   20/09/2015 17:22:36   118 left   656   640   0   yamaxim   32

also just noticed, the only shares I am getting "MrMinerVa" are the blocks I'm finding????

I have put the TigerCoin pool into maintenance mode to stop the multipools selecting it as the diff is too low. The hashrates are all over the place due to the speed that blocks are being solved .... again due to the low diff. Things will settle down as the diff increases.

Post by: TigercoinDev on September 22, 2015, 07:41:41 AM
Yes, retargeting every block helps because it prevents the generation of blocks baing locked up in a sudden drop of difficulty. The fact that we are still generating blocks at this very moment although iSpace pulled a large amount of hashing power should speak for itself. As a note: Difficulty is very low at this moment. This will not stay this way. It is a result of the slow generation of blocks over the past period (before-fork). I see it as an incentive to get involved (again) in Tigercoin.

I have found out why the clients crash every now and then, and wrote a hotfix to resolve this issue. I am testing it now and expect to release it in a few hours on Github.

Hey, miners are mining find blocks, but blocks not changing in stats. Looks like last block found was hours ago at 12:27 server time, right after you updated?

This is not worth mining presently because there are no exchanges to sell these coins at. Most likely its just wasted hashrate.

Still no sync? Looks like block chain not moving again, now showing 14 hours behind. Also noticed, no blocks being found on iSpace again, and those found are showing "0" shares for both found block and miners.

Anyone made a withdraw from a pool since 9/22 and received their coins in their wallet? I withdrew coins on 9/22 and there still MIA, not even pending in my wallet.

Hi all!
My wallet not working. Error "No block source available..." How i can fix it?

Have you updated to the new/current wallet?

Do you have a conf file in C:\users\<your user account>\Appdata\roaming\tigercon\tigercoin.conf?
If not, create it using txt editor and add these nodes:

addnode=194.135.91.150
addnode=72.46.152.250:43239
addnode=94.23.23.194:52310
addnode=198.27.97.172:15660
addnode=94.23.32.109:15660
addnode=204.11.237.233:49767
addnode=5.9.94.205:52187
addnode=37.187.99.136:44887
addnode=72.202.156.12:49799
addnode=198.27.81.114:50822
addnode=108.61.10.90:15660
addnode=199.68.199.33:15660
addnode=188.0.46.130:59529
addnode=82.161.253.248:49756
addnode=84.118.63.50:59258

addnode=91.218.84.242:15660
addnode=91.236.140.148:15660

Note that I am able to connect to the wallet but it is not syncing, there is an issue and the DEV is working on it.

Only two I know of is TomPool.org and iSpace, but they are both offline due to the block chain issues (not synching).

The only exchange I know that has TGC is Cryptsy and they have it in maintenance (offline also). And knowing Cryptsy and their "maintenance history" it will most likely be months before they bring it back online.

No one is mining at those two pools. iSpace has had the TGC mining off line for almost 2 days now because of issues with the block chain, it's not moving, my wallet is now saying 2 days behind as well. IF you are mining TGC on a pool somewhere, then they are most likely on the wrong block chain and wallet.

OK I found a bug that was making the client advertise wrong difficulty values in certain situations. I fixed this and will publish the code later.

I'm afraid the bug has resulted in some invalid blocks and forks. Fixing this would mean quite some invalid blocks being disposed of. I can imagine not everybody being ecstatic about this, but the coins wouldn't be worth a dime anyway, since they are based on buggy difficulty calculations and besides they were generated too quickly.

For your info:
The last valid block on ispace.co.uk is 482296
The last valid block on bitnodes.net is the block with height 482403. (bitnodes.net has the same block 482296 as the one mentioned at iSpace)

This block 482403 has hash 000000000927d9a7d431da80a0876689164ac030d989701f8730f7f4cb6cb258

This block will mark the start for the fixed code. At this moment nobody is succesfully mining blocks anyway, unfortunatly.

This update will include an adjustment to the difficulty calculation as well to make sure the difficulty will adjust a bit better when blocks are generated fast enough.

Blockchain seems fairly broken, I synced off of 194.135.91.150 then mined for a while, saw the other nodes. I was mining for a while on that, then saw the other nodes, added them, diff fell to below 1 but blocks were always rejected. Cleared blockchain and resycned off only 194.135.91.150 and peers from it. Back to the same diff before I started mining 7.88k.  I was around 300-500 diff for a while while mining before, the resync didnt include anything from before. And the other nodes diff is completely messed up, what is going on?

Edit: I should also note, when I try and mine using the full node list and a diff below 1 using a cpu miner it immediately crashed the wallet, while mining off the other chain I sycned too at 7.88k starting diff lets me mine, and works, but then a resync doesnt include that mining.

I was mining at around 500 diff for awhile, then got a few more nodes, now below 1 diff and the wallet keeps crashing when I find blocks... can we get some answers please.

See TigerCoinDev post above. If you are mining your are wasting you time right now if I understand his post correctly, any blocks found (and coins found) after block 482,403 will be lost once he implements the fix to correct the issues Tigercoin is having.

Hey !!!!! Whats up?

Title: Re: [TGC][ANN] Relaunch Tigercoin - Official thread
Post by: TomInVa57 on October 05, 2015, 12:06:26 PM
OK I found a bug that was making the client advertise wrong difficulty values in certain situations. I fixed this and will publish the code later.

I'm afraid the bug has resulted in some invalid blocks and forks. Fixing this would mean quite some invalid blocks being disposed of. I can imagine not everybody being ecstatic about this, but the coins wouldn't be worth a dime anyway, since they are based on buggy difficulty calculations and besides they were generated too quickly.

bla bla bla......

Any updates, it been about a week now and everyone is waiting :(

There are problems with the block chain that the DEV is working to fix. He was suppose to release a fix last night, but did not.

Github == Linux
Mega == Windows

;-)

But I'll try to be more specific in the future about this. I am building the Windows binary as we speak. Will post a link once it's done.

Thank you sir :)

Maybe another exchange will step up before Cryptsy upgrades and pulls their client out of maintenance. There are a lot of exchanges out there.

Already looked around, it's not listed on Yobit and any other's I've looked at, so far, only Cryptsy (unfortunate).

Algo == bitcoin?

I start ccminer (cuda miner, last version) on bitcoin algo. So.. i have just new blocks and every new block - new diff. So.. I dont have any hashes. I don't have rejected or accepted hashes.

Hope iSpace admin sees this, he needs to turn off the TGC mining on the pool, wallet is not updated but people are using the pool and mining, their wasting their time, hashing and power.

TGC Dev, if I understand you correctly when you posted about the upcoming update (one you just released), anything after a block number you stated would be lost, so, now, the updated wallet is showing its on block 491104 (as of time of this message), the block s on iSpace are up to 503165 found blocks, diff of 12064 blocks (or 386048 TGC's), those 12064 blocks will be lost, is that correct? if so, gonna be a lot of upset people :((

Title: Re: [TGC][ANN] Relaunch Tigercoin - Official thread

Yes. As mentioned before:

Quote
The last valid block on ispace.co.uk is 482296

Or, put another way: Block 482297 on the iSpace chain has an invalid difficulty value and thus is invalid. None of the other clients in the network will ever accept this block, or any blocks generated/built upon it.
So I am afraid that client has to resync with the network in order to be on a valid chain.

Finding blocks depends on your hash rate. Also, make sure your system time (clock) is accurate.

Difficulty should be around 1690 at the moment and is adjusted every block.
Block height is around 491652 now.

Mining on your pool, says I'm finding blocks, but have not received any payouts, do you have a minimum set and/or a web site that we can see our stats?

Also seeing a lot of transactions in wallet that are showing status ? with comment "Unconfirmed 0 of 4 confirmations) Generated but not accepted Mined"???

ummm, did the p2p stop? I been mining since 11:30 AM EST, found a few blocks up to 11:34 AM EST, then all of a sudden, no coins since 11:34, it's now 12:00 noon EST? Miners are saying it's finding blocks, but not receiving anything?

I have TigerCoind v 1.2.0.2
with 2 active peers to network:
 196.209.221.15:15660
and
 198.27.81.114:15660

May be network is unstable and not in sync?

I will try to debug crash tigercoin with p2pool tomorrow.

Has anyone contacted Cryptsy about the wallet update?  According to their status page, the block count is off and it is in maintenance mode.

Yea they know. Just don't hold your breath waiting for them to update the wallet, they still have some that have been in maintenance for almost a year.

Hi.
Started p2pool in test mode:

url: stratum+tcp://tgc.peers.net.ua:9660
login: your wallet address
password: x

Pool status on my miners is saying the pool is "Dead"??

FYI; I updated the addnodes to two nodes that seem to work well at the moment:

Code:

addnode=82.161.253.248

Pool status on my miners is saying the pool is "Dead"??

I am not sure what is going on or causing this problem, if it's the p2p pool or the wallet, but here is what just happened.

I've been mining on this P2P pool all night, and I am seeing 100's if not 1000's of Mined coins in the wallet that say Generated but not accepted, just from the log, from 9:24 AM EST to 10:00 Am EST (turned my miners off at this point) every single Mined block, over 345 say "generated but  not accepted", loos of many, many missing coins and some super/bonus ones too. This can not be normal?

UPDATE: Is this even possible, I am seeing confirmed Mined coins now going into "Generated but not accepted" WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not that familiar with P2Pool to be honest. But blocks are being generated on the network just fine.
There are no known issues with mining on the 1.2.0.2 client.

Have you tried solo mining?

UPDATE: By the way the message you mentioned normally means you mined blocks that were orphaned.

Somebode Forked the hell out of the chain.

I am seeing 5 seconds and less per block.

This difficulty adjustment aint working.

90% of the hash is 1 person node. There will be no network transmission time delay, hence 5 seconds or less.

I exported the transactions, it's showing over 500 "Generated but not accepted" blocks in under 1 hours, if it's crating that many orphans than there must still be an issue somewhere with the coin/block!

What's up with the P2P? I was able to find the website to view the stats, and something just don't look right, for one, Last Block ID (which I assume is block number) is listing the same ID multiple times, some even up to several times. Each block is also showing my payment address as receiving coins but there are none being credited to my wallet, for instance, last payment I received was at 12:12 PM EST (ID 510884), blocks on the pool are up to 12:32 PM EST (ID 510960). About 84 blocks that say I'm getting payouts to my address but none are being credited?

Any ideas or am I missing something somewhere?

UPDate 1:13 PM EST - Ok, over 1 hour mining at avg of 2.3 TH/s, no coins deposited to my wallet, yet website shows mining, coins/blocks found and coins sent to my wallet address, but none have been sent/received. Where are these coins going, sorry, ,but I have to think, in your pocket? They are not orphaned or dead blocks, they are confirmed, what else can I believe????

I see some troubles:
1. Peers disconnects from daemon and not reconnect again - when I connect manual own wallet to daemon 193.33.237.189 (addnote 193.33.237.189 onetry), then I see mined coins.
2. Seems that block now is every 5 seconds, but p2pool configured for 45 seconds/block.

Please, not connect to my pool, or You just waste time.

We now seem to have an active pool up and running at iSpace Mining Pools ( http://www.ispace.co.uk/coindetails/?coin=tgc ) but due to the mess with the blockchain over the past couple of months we have had cleardown any blocks and rewards generated in that time.

New pool seems to be running ok and finding new blocks but we'll leave it in Maintenenace Mode and continue to monitor for the next few days.

Sorry Marty, but this sounds like total BS to me. I had over 66,000 "confirmed" TGC before the last block issue started at block 482403, these were "confirmed". I could not withdraw these because of you having the wallet in maintenance. So, you are saying that everyone who mined any coins between this and the problem before this have lost everything?

I just tried to look at my transaction history on the pool, the history also got wiped out because of the upgrade (unbelievable)? What happened to the transaction history? How can my coins disappear if they were confirmed before the block issue started? This is just pure BS man......

i'll side with Marty
everyone knew there was a fork up in the chain

1. see this thread
2. see coinwarz
3. see the wallet status on cryptsy

there is no way to sort it out other than getting all the ducks lined back up and on 1 chain
if your rewards are on the right chain then you'll likely be gettin them.

That's my point. They (iSpace) were on the right chain before the latest block issue about a week or so ago, the TGC that I mined were also mined on the correct chain and "confirmed" on the pool (meaning those blocks were good), so what happened to them? The original fork happened over a month ago, there has been a couple block issues since then, and the Dev corrected the last one a couple days ago (don't think these would be considered forked?). I mean come on, I updated to the latest change/wallet, all coins that I've mined and were in my wallet confirmed (and very quickly), didn't loose any. BUT iSpace says they cleared out blocks from months ago? Why? The issue only started a week or so ago with blocks after block 482403, I'm positive my 66000 confirmed were before this. And, all transaction history is gone from the pool, so I can't check the blocks/history? Sorry, but something sounds fishy to me!

What are you trying to mine with? TGC is SHA256.

ISpace uses the following TGC setup:
stratum+tcp://ispace.co.uk:3685 (for Low Diff)
stratum+tcp://ispace.co.uk:3337 (for Med Diff)
stratum+tcp://ispace.co.uk:3686 (for Hi Diff)

I run my Ant S3's at Med Diff and S5's at Hi Diff.

BetaCoin is using port 3333 on iSpace :)

I'm confused now, are you using GPU to mine or Ant S5...lol

Are you using the S5 built in interface? I am, this is how my miner are set (you can use my worker/pass if you want, I wouldn't complain rofl j/k):

S5 you should use Hi Diff port 3686.

To ISpace, Cryptsy and all major stakeholders.

This "DEV" released a coin which has been modified to destroy it.

This guy is a TROLL and he has done it successfully to TGC.

Please rollback to the original TGC client and take caution to people pretending to be "DEV" of a coin with honest intentions.

We need you guys to save TGC. Because 5 blocks per second with no difficulty adjustment is destroying this coin.

A concerned miner....

GL, People are mining TGC at over 54 TH/s on iSpace, that's the problem. The confirmation are also screwed up again, required confirmation on the pool show lover blocks still needing 119 confs, where some more current blocks have already confirmed and also up to 119 confs pending. Same thing happened after the update before this last one. I think DEV needs to rethink the block times, it's just too quick.

Plus, there is no place to trade that I can find anyways, only exchange I know that has TGC is Cryptsy, and it's been in maint since the first fork.

Blocks are being found so fast that the background process is struggling to keep pace. As the diff increases or the hashrate drops this will sort itself out and catch up. No rewards will be lost.

There is no need to setup a worker in advance simply use a worker name prefixed with your username, e.g. username.worker1
Password can be any value.

Wallet address are entered on the My Mining Dashboard under the My Payouts option.

Nothing, there have been multiple insights into important truths of this project that i might have had duty to share with the world if u had asked me but i would not do that for one simple reason: i have inside knowledge and u dont.

So as predicted block generation was quite fast for a while due to the new algo adjusting the sluggish network of the past few months (/year). I'll have to admit this went a bit less smooth than I anticipated. Still, I did mention upfront that block generation would be faster for a while. Thanks to all involved in throwing 55+ TH into the mix ;-)

Now, the algo will take care of stable block generation.
Of course it would help a lot to have more than one pool up and running. And maybe some solo miners. That would greatly help network stability.

But either way. Considering the current situation, from now on Tigercoin will be the most stable coin out there. :-)
No more waiting for multiple days for a new block to be generated.
No more malicious miners messing with the difficulty.
Just the most stable block generation possible. Maybe it will sometimes take longer than 45 seconds. Maybe sometimes less. But as long as there is hashing power, it will be the most stable you'll ever see.
You can transfer coins at any time without ages of waiting.

Also, max block size is 2MB.
So throughput is max 2MB every 45 seconds.
Which is over 26 times the throughput on the bitcoin network.

This might be a problem if the network gets really busy and you are on a 64 kpbs internet connection while you really need to be up to date (for example to be able to mine). But as long as you have solid hardware and connections you should be fine. ;-)

As a final note. It probably won't surprise you that I am working on a nice feature for the future.

Can we get a list of known working nodes now?

I am on wallet v1.2.0.2 and stuck at block 482804

Public node:
Bitnodes: https://bitnodes.net/node/194-135-91-150/

also I had to delete the Appdata folder and restart at genesis block ... had the stuck at block 482804 problem too ;)

do not del wallet.dat!
i'm assuming you know such

but just addnode first ... maybe it will sync for you without del and restarting the whole download.

The best thing to do is to use:

Code:

I noticed a bug that could render a client unable to download new valid blocks from it's peers.
This only happenness in a very specific situation on clients with a (temporary) bad connection receiving multiple valid chains.
Nonetheless, I advise to update your clients asap to guarantee stability of both your daemon and network.
The risk of running into this bug is higher when you are actively mining on your client. Especially when this is combined with slow network connections / slow block synchronising.

So I released a new client (version 1.2.0.3) on Github and updated the link to the Windows binary as well.

For your convenience, here is the link to github:
https://github.com/TigerCoinDev/Tigercoin
And the new Windows binary:

Good luck & enjoy!

Could you give a bit more information please?

- What client version do you run?
- Besides these error messages in your log file, is your client functioning normally?
- Are your seing only these three txid's giving errors in your logs? Or others as well?
- Do these error messages (so basically the same tc IDs) repeat themselves?

Thanks a lot for the wallet version and the node... i was tired, 3 days deleting all, adding nodes and down again, trying to sincronyze my wallet.
the version 1.2.0.3 Works fine, the TGC i mined at iSpace at oct 29 and 30 (i stop mining, wallet problem = no transfer) was credited in my account normally when sync.
i will send you some tigers, in recognition for this work. Just a simbolic gesture, i not have a powerfull hash.

I like cryptopia since it would/could include a mining pool and block explorer.

Cryptsy is circling the drain, and price discovery is a bit difficult given you can't withdraw (the network works fine just that Cry can't be bothered to update ... you know 5 min job is just to much effort for them).

Polo is like aiming for the stars, wouldn't hurt to try, but best way is for Legendary guys to knock on that door ;)

Tiger does not need Cry.  Solution to the problem is another exchange.  So be it.

Put this on the old thread by accident since the new thread post is midpage instead of end.

Seems to be some forks. Just synced a wallet over two days, current version. Not on the same fork as iSpace is, not sure whats going on, I've got 9 connections in the wallet.

Wallet on block 935627 and finding blocks fast, iSpace at 934422 and finding blocks very fast. Diffs are not the same if I solo mine or connect to ispace. Not sure what's going on but it breaking a bit.

Peerinfo makes the forks clear

I got a crazy idea.

Let's fork tiger.  Really nothing to lose at this point.

There is some kinda of debate over in the bitcoin camp about blocksize.
Well I am wondering if all those Unlimited and Classic and XT project would like to you know maybe perhaps test the code on an actual coin.  What do they call that ... testing?

Serious.

There is no need to fork. Everything is just fine. The network is healthy and very resilient.  Tigercoin has plenty of TX capacity to process a lot more TXs per second than Bitcoin can at the moment.

Besides that, a new update is being built with very powerful new features.

iSpace has run into the 1.2.0.2 bug and is on a forked chain. I've told them multiple times months ago they should upgrade but unfortunatly they did not.

As long as you are running the latest version you are on the main chain.

And we can win.  Did well in the last election.  This current election is down because you need to have a strong first 48hrs or else you're basically out of the game.

So get registered over there and practice.  In 10 days a new election will start and we need to make sure all are voting for the first 3-5 days.

Seems that there is an issue with the coin.... i see from the wallet downloaded chain that are some days that are mined more than 10/15 blocks minute, and the difficulty don't retarget stuck on 44....

There is nothing wrong with the coin. All this is by design. The difficulty is adjusting just fine each block.  No worries.
The difficulty algorithm has a long term component built in which ensures block generation to keep on track. Also, this protects the network against known difficulty attacks.
Because block generation has been quite sluggish over the past few years, this long term component can have quite an intense result every once in a while. This will become less and less over time.

The main objective here is continued and uninterrupted block generation. This ensures TX capacity at any time you want. Consider this: if the network would have been steadily minting blocks every 45 seconds, it would have been at over 1.75 million blocks by now. We're close to 1 million..

An exchange would be very nice indeed. I'm sure this won't be a problem in the long run though. The coin won't die, so I guess it's just a matter of time.

Solo mined in the previous month and with my power, (also some days i was the only miner, because , i had taken all blocks one after another), the diff was in a range from 40 to 80.

When i entered again (the day i wrote the above message) mining was every 5/10 seconds, and stay fix in difficulty at 44, if  i enter and add power the diff after few block have to raise a bit, but didn't happened, and blocks cotinued to be generated at 5/10 seconds and not at 45 seconds, and also me, when discovered a block the 70/80% of them were unconfirmed, stalled, because too rapid block generation.... so the situation(at the time i wrote) was not ok. I don't know now, as after that date didn't open again wallet nor analized blocks.....

But i can assure you,  that when i entered there was a couple of days that blocks where at 5/10 seconds and not at 45 seconds, or near that value, as the months before....

Difficulty will pick up. Don't worry about that. In the meantime. If you mine, you earn rewards / fees. Just like always. If you mine with too much power, you'll mine less efficient. Just like always.
The fact that the network generates a few more blocks evey now and then doesn't really hurt you, does it? ;-) See it as a temporary extra insentive for miners if you will.

I disagree with you if the difficulty retarget is not properly adjusted and there is huge power, the fight for blocks can fork the chain and you discover a lot of blocks that stall and are not confirmed... so a lot of mining power wasted.....

But at the moment the bad thing about TGC is that we don't have an exchange......

Exactly. So don't throw an irrational high amount of power into the network or you'll be wasting some of your mining power. ;-)

gRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Quote
Cryptopia Listing Policy

    Coins may only be submitted for review by an active developer of the coin.
    The coin's network must be able to sustain a network of at least 4 active nodes.
    The coin must be able to fully sync on its own from the network without the use of 3rd party bootstraps of the blockchain.
    We must be able to get the coin to compile locally from source from a public source repository, preferably github.
    An active member of the coin team should give us optimally 30 days advance notice via support ticket of upcoming mandatory coin updates such as forks.
    We do not list ICO or IPO coins.
    Premines will be evaluated and justified on a case by case basis, we reserve the right to reject any premined coin.
    An active dev of the team should ideally be available to assist with issues with the coin's network outside of Cryptopia's control.
    A coin must be able to maintain a network sufficient enough to consistently process blocks at the average target time.
    The coin must have an up to date forum thread on the Cryptopia Forums maintained by an active member of the coin's team.
    Any coin violating any of these requirements for longer than a period of 30 days may be subject to delisting.
    Voting is final, votes will not be refunded, please ensure you vote for coins that meet all of the listed requirements.
    As each coin is reviewed on a case by case basis there is no guaranteed ETA on how long the review process will take. If you do not want to wait, provided your coin meets all requirements for listing you may pay the listing fee of 5,000,000 DOT upfront to get listed immediately.
    The voting page is a way for the community of a coin to crowdfund the listing fee of their coin, there are no rounds, votes do not expire, every coin that reaches 5,000,000 DOT votes will be listed provided the coin meets all of the listed requirements.
    Any coin rejected or delisted can start the listing process over provided it now meets the requirements for listing.

If you would like to submit a coin to the vote you must raise a support ticket and be able to verify that you are an active dev for the coin.

I use this node list, (in part i see that some are the same) but i don't specify the port number....

from my .conf :

addnode=194.135.91.150
addnode=193.192.37.135
addnode=108.61.10.90
addnode=193.33.237.189
addnode=198.27.81.114
addnode=91.121.221.92
addnode=192.169.6.169

Verify also that an eventually firewall you have don't stop communications for the wallet.....

we can buy a listing for 500K DOTs ... or 1/10th the price it was before
also Tiger seems to poll well we will lose this months election but if we are luck likely could win the June election

Probably in a fork (wrong chain), verify that you use the last wallet version 1.2.0.3 and that you have the right node list... I use  this list :

addnode=194.135.91.150
addnode=193.192.37.135
addnode=108.61.10.90
addnode=193.33.237.189
addnode=198.27.81.114
addnode=91.121.221.92
addnode=192.169.6.169

I am stuck on 7 weeks behind. added all the nodes and no luck. keeps on saying no block source.  get peer info returns blank.

version   1.2.0.3

nodes are not working wallet will not connect to them.

You're definitely having connection issues to the internet. Something is blocking the client. Your log states it can't even 'surf' to http://91.198.22.70 to check your current IP at DynDNS.

Your firewall or anything like that is probably blocking the client from having access to the internet.

I see people referring to the client/wallet v1.2.0.3

I just built using Ubuntu 14.04, > git clone https://github.com/TigerCoinDev/Tigercoin .... I then cd 'ed into the Tigercoin directory and typed > qmake , then followed by make

I made the tigercoin.conf and placed it in the .tigercoin folder
It consists of the following...

listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser= (my rpc address)
rpcpassword= ( my rpc password )
rpcport=15661
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
addnode=193.192.37.135
addnode=193.33.237.189
addnode=198.27.81.114:15660
addnode=91.121.221.92:15660
addnode=194.135.91.150:15660
addnode=108.61.10.90:15660

I then started tigercoin.qt

It shows version 1.2.0.2-3

IS THIS THE CURRENT VERSION?

I ask because I sync to 48 weeks and then synchronizing stalls.

It also only connect to 3 - 4 nodes.

I'm trying to make a full node as well as to solo mine...

Some help please?

An update.

Trying to synchronize the client / wallet, Its not stalled at 48 weeks, Its just going very slow. I left it synchronizing over night and it moved to 34 weeks. So I'll just leave that go then. One its synced, I just might write a scrypt to auto save the whole blockchain to an online folder so anyone else can just download a ready to use blockchain that's with 24 hrs of actual sync... rather than wait for the wallet to sync itself. A simple download copy the whole blockchain folder and paste it to where the existing - empty blockchain folder is - overwriting the existing blockchain folder.

I've done that with some other coins for personal use in case I have a wallet crash, I'm not waiting for DAYS for things to sync.

I also opened up my router passing 15660 to the server running the Tigercoin Client and now I'm up to 13 connections inbound and outbound.

I also on https://bitnodes.net/node/194-135-91-150/ , I saw my ip address, and the reported client I was using which listed 1.2.0.3 ... so I am running the current client/wallet.

You'll need to setup your miner configuration to the pool address and port.

Example miner setup: stratum+tcp://ispace.co.uk:4167 -u username.miner -p x

http://sha256d.ispace.co.uk/faq - This will basically answer most of your questions.

To New Dev:

I will host any small websites for tigercoin for free on my reseller hosting.

Tiger is ideal for the stick ASIC miners.  Likely to start having $1500 retail units looking for ALT sha256d options too!

If TGC bounces up too high gain some capital for a BE and a few seeder nodes.  No?

Other than that ... a nice amateur project with a solid history and clean code.  In time, age of chain will be a matter of importance.  Maintain baseline support.  Not a difficult effort for a mature chain, which BTC is not!

small cap but solid market support / resistance

you don't see that every day!

Tiger has the potential to be a solid Top5 alt POW sha256, Maza, Zeta, Tit lead the field but have nearly 0 activity and their networks are in states of collapse.  Tiger, is on the other hand, positioned for network growth.

My wallet has 11 active connections and still downloading the blocks only about half way after 8 hours. Am I right in think that by leaving my wallet running 24/7 it will act as a full node once all blocks downloaded? Id like to give somthing back after Ive managed to download all of those blocks.. Ive checked and can access my ip and port 15660 via bitnodes checker so presume its working.

Hi I could really do with some help solo mining TGC. Complete neewbie at this so bear with me.
I have my wallet synced and upto date and 9 active connections. I am using cgminer and so far have solved over 100 blocks!! but not one share has been accepted and I have made no progress on mining any TGC. Surley I am doing something wrong. Heres my cgminer config. Im guessing that my solved blocks are reaching the network too late?

cgminer -o http://127.0.0.1:15661 -s all --expiry 5 --queue 0 -u myusername -p mypassw --btc-address myTGCwalletaddress

Cgminer runs great and I am finding blocks just not getting any confirmed shares or TGC

Any help would be great and I will send some TGC to anyone that can help me solo mine my first block

First, what are you mining with (CPU, USB, etc.)?
Second, what OS are you using?
Next, are you sure that you're "solving blocks" (i.e., actually over the 100-200k difficulty that the network has?
Lastly, is there anything in your "debug.log" that indicates anything about blocks found/submitted?

I am using a gekko usb asic miner running at about 30GH slow I know, and using windows 10.
I can pool mine no issues with cgminer. I just wanted to try solo mining TGC. The difficulty is low according to my wallet blocks and cgminer reports a difficulty of anywhere between 14k to 40k as the blocks come in.
just left cgminer running for a couple of hours and got this.

looking through the debug.log I am getting this for said solved blocks

ThreadRPCServer method=submitblock
ERROR: AcceptBlock() : block height mismatch in coinbase
ERROR: ProcessBlock() : AcceptBlock FAILED
ThreadRPCServer method=getblockcount

any ideas on whats going wrong?
You may need to close your wallet and rerun it with the -reindex switch. If that doesn't work, then it's possible that cgminer will not work directly with this coin.

reindexing seems to be taking ages its just sitting at 438 weeks behind no progress I dont think reindexing is working correctly. debug.log growing rapidly with

Former block not found so NULL -> Not using strict timer for now since block received out-of-order
ProcessBlock: ORPHAN BLOCK, prev=00000000002448583ba9c6bc45b31f81e674a3602e07aa3da036f33ae6b9a683

similar entries over and over.

I ll leave it running for a few hours and see if any progress is made

Glad i have a back up..

It looks like you are finding blocks just fine, the only thing is your miner is finding them after their height already have been mined by somebody else.
This means your miner keeps working on the work it got dispatched for too long before checking whether it is still relevant.

Try to set the upper limit for new work to for example 20 seconds using the expiry argument:

Code:
--expiry|-E <arg>   Upper bound on how many seconds after getting work we consider a share from it stale (default: 120)

Also, if your port is open and the client running, you will be acting as a full node.

You can also check this with:
Code:
getpeerinfo

After running the client for a while, you should see some inbound peers coming up ("inbound" : true).

 reindexing was a no go..

ok i will set expiry to 20 seconds. I appear to be running a full node as have a total of 10 connections and 3 showing as inbound..

I will leave running for 24 hours mining and see if I get any success

Thanks for the help

In fact, I'd advise to try setting both expiry and scantime to 1. As long a you run solo and local, there's no harm in doing so, and it will minimize the risk on working on expired work due to new found blocks on the network.

ok I am restarting cgminer with those settings as still solving old blocks..

Thanks

As a last resort you could also set queue to 0 but I doubt you need this with expiry and scantime set to 1..
Unless you really need to, keep it at default (1).

If all else fails, try a different program, like BFGMiner.

Edit: this thread might help (or might not): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1173963.0

Still no joy solo mining just solving blocks too late shame the node i was running had 15 connections.. bfgminer wont work with my gekko 2pac which is a shame I would have liked to have given that option a try. Thanks for the help though its given me some insight.

I am back to the pools for the time being.

I was totally wrong about the cause of your mining issue. I just took a short look at your error message and jumped to conclusions. Apologies.

I took a closer look and found out the problem is some buggy code in the way cgminer calculates the serialized block height. This results in faulty block height data in your mined blocks.

Ok
Shame about the buggy code in cgminer hope it gets fixed.
I am solving blocks successfully via pooled mining just not getting the full rewards as shared with the pool. Shame my hardware wont work with bfgminer.

Thanks

My wallet (version v1.2.0.3) has been stuck at 5 days behind for a long time now.

It says I have 8 active connections and says it is syncing with the network.

Restarting the wallet has no effect. I deleted the block info in app data and it redownloaded...got stuck again in same spot.

Says it has process 440025 of 2740366

Any advice?

You can try to reset your peer database too (move all peers* files away to a temp folder) and make sure you've included the mentioned addnode lines in your tigercoin.conf file.

Cryptopia notified me that TGC is getting de-listed. I tried moving my coins. but to my amazement. there's no exchange accepting them nor there seems to be any wallet but official one which I downloaded from this thread original post.
but again, I can't sync the wallet. its telling me that 265 weeks behind.

How do I fix this and keep my coins or sale/exchange them? any help

You're really amazed that no exchange wants to carry a coin that has no updates or commits in the last 3 years and no 51% attack double spend protection? Really?

So whats the Tigercoin can do? what is the main feature? What it can solve?

Surviving SHA256 ASIC.
There are very few, pure POW classics in that class:

BCH, BsV
ZET, MAZA, then likely Tiger
UNIC, and maybe embargo

Then a few more but with much less "time alive".
