Title: Are there any US exchanges that sell Bitcoin to FinCEN registered users?
Post by: bgibso01 on September 19, 2015, 06:07:24 PM
Last month, Coinbase decided to close my trading activity with them after being with them from the beginning.  This was due to me labeling some of my transfers as going to a bitcoin wallet that holds my Skyhook vending machine funds.  I'm pretty sure there's some fine print somewhere and I take responsibility for missing it, but as far as I can tell, there is no exchange in the US that is allowing MSBs to use their service.

Any ideas?  I limit transaction amounts so as not to deal with too much paperwork, but do monitor the machine.

Ask Bitpay if they have any coins to sell? Most of their coins are sold to pre arranged buyers anyway and there must be a pretty reliable supply at competitive prices. If they won't sell coins to a business then there's something a bit weird going on.

Or you could just send them an email with a link to steal the CEO email account and steal 3000 BTC from them... ;)

Maybe try localbitcoins.com if you are in a big city? Other than that I'm not quite sure... Xapo could be an option, but they charge a pretty high transaction fee if I'm not mistaken..

There's that premium to deal with though, but I guess a seller would be very keen on an ongoing buyer and discount accordingly. If you've got an ATM you need a reliable supply which may not be achievable through LBC.

Pretty crazy how hard it is for businesses to buy coins. Quite a few ATMs seem to be linked to Bitstamp but transferring to there from the US must be a major grind.
