Title: will bit miners be interested in buying my old graphics card?
Post by: kleep on September 23, 2015, 08:27:16 AM
Hey I'm going to be upgrading my computer and a co-worker told me that I could be able to resell my amd 6700 to bit miners because they suit bit mining really well, is that true and if it is how much could I sell it for?

Nope.  Search for ASICs and how it changed bitcoin mining in 2013.

I think no one will prefer to buy graphics card particularly for bitcoin mining. Because, bitcoin mining requires high end configured hardwares :)

No, it's much too slow compared to all other released hardware.
You CAN mine altcoins with it pretty nicely though! You might want to put it up on the marketplace and some altcoin miner will want to pick it up, especially if it's under stock price and in good condition.

Ethereum is taking off and someone might want to steal it off your hands, but mining bitcoin with it is a big no.

I don't believe any AMD 6xxx series card is efficient enough to make money even on altcoins - too old, too power greedy for the performance.

(edit) You MIGHT be able to find someone working Distributed.Net on RC5 that would be interested in it, if you put it up for sale cheap enough.

You can't profitably mine with GPU's since 2013.  Sorry man,
