Title: Seeking to create the first Quantum miner.
Post by: Quantum_Miner on October 25, 2015, 09:23:10 PM
I looking for people interested in creating the first bitcoin quantum computer miner. I am open to all ideas that can help this idea become a reality.

step #1: find a faster way of doing sha 256 that requires a quantum computer

I do not think that quantum computers have/will have a significant advantage over classical computers when it comes to hashing. There are limits to what they are better at. Quantum Computers are not faster at everything, contrary to popular belief.

this topic is a little silly, we will have Quantum comps not faster than 10 years, so talking about Quantum miners, is out of the question imo

There are a few quantum systems that are out there already, but mainly being used in research and development projects.  Bitcoin mining today is very brute-force oriented with a nonce-based algorithm, the quantum computer would probably do an amazing job on boolean SAT solving model.  Hashing... not so much, so not really viable.

Or.... you skip the mining and just use it to figure out the prime factorization for SHA256 and get the private key for 3A1KUd5H4hBEHk4bZB4C3hGgvuXuVX7p7t  ;D

Lockheed, Google, and USC have one of these systems which has 1000 qubits:

well, awasome idea.
you can create hybrid miner a normal miner(classical)+quantum miner
classical miner for accquracy and qunatum to approch.
I am a physicsist...just have some knowledge of computer science ...come on
