Title: My non-techie friends can't earn Bitcoins
Post by: Xenland on November 05, 2012, 06:29:28 AM
I've been decking away at getting my friends to trust Bitcoins, I've explained to them in laymens terms how the network works and how easy it is to use. They want to earn bitcoins because they have absolutely no money to Buy in to it. They would like to do anything non-techie to earn Bitcoins over the internet for example, fill out surveys, play games, fill out forms, etcetera, etcetera.

I've looked at coinworker.com and currently working 8 hours a day doing coinworker stuff they could make $50-$90/month (in BTC value) which is like $2/day for 8 hours worth of work, Any ideas mates?

What about being a local exchanger? Selling and buying bitcoins for cash, for profit? That is one side-job opportunity, in a bigger city it could make a nice slice of coins.

Not a bad Idea, but if they already have USD they just buy the things around town no need for them to buy Bitcoins, if they earned Bitcoins I think they would be more inclined to buy and trade Bitcoins in the long haul, for example maybe all of my friends could start using Bitcoins and we could trade for small things amongst each other for bitcoins(cigarettes, booze, food tab, you name it, etc). Then the network effect happens and eventually every one friends are using Bitcoins then all the local stores begin to accept them and hire me to get them setup.

Poker, start with freerolls if they don't trust their skills.

Then start the ball rolling.  Offer to buy the above things from them with bitcoins.  When you do, they now have bitcoins, and you all can trade amongst each other for them.

I know. It's a real drag that there isn't a coinworker like website out there that will give you real tasks that could earn a minimum wage living.

I've been looking for a secretary of sort.

It's best if you have some useful skills, like for example accounting, programming, marketing skills, PR, creating reports... stuff like that, but not required.

If you don't have those skills, but you are interested in privacy, I have some easier work that requires less skills. We can discuss hourly rate and how many hours per day/week.
You don't need to know a lot about Bitcoin and cryptography, but a little computer skills like knowing Facebook, Twitter and the like is required.

PM me if you are interested.

Profiteer rule #1: You need money to make money.

The less you have the harder it is to make X, but...

The more you have the harder it is to make X% more than what you've got.

However:

Profiteer rule #2: It doesn't need to be your own money.

I suggested that to them too nothing sprouted out of any of their minds I'm guessing they are more labor or repetition work kind of workers not the creative type.

This is an example of a confusion between correlation and causation.

People who are economically productive tend to have money and an easier time earning more. People who are unproductive can't hold on to money for very long, even if they start out with a large sum.

I've found it nearly impossible in a big city to even sell bitcoins for their current mtgox price, and never found anyone willing to sell for less.  So I really doubt how much business there is buying and reselling bitcoins for a profit.

Honestly dude, I can't even earn bitcoins, as of right now.  I think it is now an "alternative for of payment."
