Title: Getting my TX mined on next block
Post by: anonymousx on November 01, 2015, 03:12:55 PM
my TX is stuck because of low fees, the blockchain android wallet decided to pay and I had nothing to do with it, however its stuck since 2015-10-30 17:38:46 without confirmations and I am tired of waiting, the total amount is 0.0375 BTC, how can I get this included in the next block, I heard there is a bounty site where you can put your TX and pay for it to get into next block, and can you at least tell me how much time will it take for it to be refused and get back to my wallet?
info:
tal Input   0.03760358 BTC
Total Output   0.03750358 BTC
Fees   0.0001 BTC
Estimated BTC Transacted   0.0375 BTC
Size   2410 (bytes)
(someone is sending me 0.0001 BTC twice per day, I don't know who is it, could be dust.

0.0001 BTC is a very low fee compared to the Tx size 2410 byte. If you got any change, you may try CPFP. Could you please provide your Tx hash?

The fee is not your only problem, you also created a dust output of 358 satoshi. Currently dust is considered anything below 2730 satoshi and will result in most nodes not relaying your transaction.

What you can do is give the TX a push from time to time. Take the raw form

Code:

and rebroadcast it e.g. here

https://insight.bitpay.com/tx/send
https://coinb.in/#broadcast
https://btc.blockr.io/tx/push
http://webbtc.com/relay_tx
https://blockchain.info/pushtx

or via your own node.

Thanks for help I will keep trying to push the TX.

You can also create a double spend transaction and increase the fee and remove the dust inputs from the transaction.

This would work if you miners uses the replace by fee patch or has forgotten about your transactions. If majority of the network hasn't forgotten about your older transaction, they will refuse to relay it and it's harder to get it to the miner.

Bitcoin Nodes does not keep transactions older than 24 hours.
So as time goes his transaction will be forgotten by the majority of the network.

I'm not sure about the exact time but I would give a max 48 hours, it can differ from client to client. By default, many clients rebroadcast the transactions till it get included in a block. If it does, it would stay in the mempool forever. Bitcoin Core does have a function to stop rebroadcast but a third party can also get the raw format and rebroadcast it continuously.

It was mined finally, the solution was rebroadcast from 3 different services, at the end it got refused and I got it back, I than imported the private key in mycelium for android "it have better decision for fees than blockchain.info" blockchain sent with 0.0001 a transaction that got stuck while mycelium nodes proccessed my transaction for 0.00009 and it was high priority "same amount of coins" so I guess blockchain.info is blacklisting some miners who work with less fees.

all in all I am writing this just in case if someone find this page in google and have my same problem, be patient until it gets canceled if broadcasting didn't work.

Is this hard to do? I once had this problem too and they I had to wait for days.

The fee is no problem, but sometime i press sent to fast, without thinking about the fees or adjusting them.

It is relatively hard to do and it takes some luck. Bitcoin Core 0.12 is supposed to have Replace-By-Fee so it should be easier to make a transaction with a higher fee that gets confirmed.
